Agreed...Strome will be the 2nd line center for the Islanders in the next year...I think you might see Nino as the other wing on JT's line.
- kear20

Brad Boyes(if we play this year) or Bailey who did look decent in stretches on wing.

Its pretty much a given that Strome will never see the AHL, If he didnt make the NHL this year, he would be in it next year...

Lets say they put together a second line of Nelson - Strome - Bailey, Nino, Okposo

We know JT loves playing with MM & i think i heard somewhere he likes to play with KO That would be a 1st line of MM - JT - KO .... I personally would love KO on the third line, Bailey get a shot on the first line (give it 20 games) and Nino on the second.. if Josh doesnt hack it on the first line.. then Nino gets a shot on JT wing.. KO to Stome's wing & Bailey to the third line or traded.

personally, would like to see Okoposo, Grabner, Bailey traded in some way to bring back more established/proven NHL winning player that this team needs to take pressure off JT....
since Snow does not do trades, im seeing lines like this

MM-JT-B.Boyes
Grabs-Frans-OK
JJ-Bailey-??
Martin-Reasoner-?? only for this year

next yr
MM-JT-Strome
Nino-Frans-Grabs
OK-Sundstrom-B.Nelson
Martin-CC-Gallant the 4th line

If Strome and Nelson are both on the team and Frans is our second line center I'm punching somebody in the face. More than likely myself.

only at the start of the season, so theres no pressure on the kids, but eventually the lines will change upon production....

Frans Nielson should never be on the isles second line. He's a third line center, and should start the season as such. I think the either Grabner, Okposo or Bailey are going to be shipped out, when Strome and Nino are on the squad. My hope is Grabner gets shipped, but Garth loves him.

They'd never let Bailey touch the first line. Im sure part of convincing Boyes to even sign here was saying he'd be playing with Tavares. What other team would a guy who hasnt had a good season in 4 years get promised first line burn?

Sidenote : anyone who thinks Boyes isnt starting with Tavares is mistaken...

I believe all 3 will eventually get traded, if and when the kids are ready, hate to say it, but until this team has a scoring 2nd line center, its Frans who will be there until either trade, Strome, Nelson, etc are ready...
but do agree Frans is a 3rd line guy, and wont be shocked if hes traded within 2 yrs

Brad Boyes over Bailey on Tavares wing is a mistake which most sensible people would agree with. The kid plays decent on the wing and is an excellent passer. Give Bailey a chance to succeed and if he doesn't send him packing, he's had enough time whether he was rushed or not. If he can put in a consistent effort night in and night out great if not than we gave him a legit shot. With that said you are 100% correct they will start Boyes on the first line and yes this is the only team who would put someone on the first line who hasn't had a good season in five years.

Even I would be shocked with this mismanagement if it happened. Snow has stated himself that Nielsen belongs on the third line.

Well its def time for them to put up some numbers and play consistent hockey.

Both Okposo and Grabner have played both first and second line. Neither of which are a first line player.

Bailey has been stuck on the bottom six since he was drafted.

Me and you are on the same page about Bailey.......that kid has MAJOR talent, yet he's never given legit linemates. People on here make a different argument, but i ask them, name any period of time more than maybe 2 games, where Bailey has played on either the first or second line. Sickkkk way to treat your first pick of the rebuild.

on another hockey note, even tho its premature, but who would you want the Isles to draft next year?

my vote goes to D seth jones
would solidify our d-fense for years, with the other d-men we have in the system or drafted........

I like Gremlin alot, he brings alot to the PK, but as we have said before he has hands like rocks, and you cant teach someone how to score. If they give Bailey a shot on the first line & cant run with it.. ship him out.. the wait is over. grabner would be my next choice, but like i said he is quite good on the PK & him & Franz on the third line together is a very good combo.
