This was Yakupov's quote....
"I understand that I will have to keep a cool head and ignore provocations. Especially against the Canadians. These guys play dirty.
There is nothing wrong with that. Actually i find it refreshing, in this world of monotone cliche'd interviews that he isn't afraid to speak his mind.
That was hardly an insulting comment. He's right, our players have always played the Russians dirty, and for the most part we're proud of it.
As far as that last shift goes. He had just come off the ice from a very long shift. The coach likely thought he was gassed.
I love when fans from other teams bend over backwards to try to expose his negative virtues on one hand, while hoping he gets traded to thier team on the other. - steveb12344
every team plays dirty some more than others some better than others

wait, I'm confused. Do you think klefbom Is better than Hamilton ? And while Niger racked up points yesterday, he didn't really look spectacular often. Nuge has had the benefit of great line mates the last 2 years. It'd be interesting to see how he would play if eberle went down |

i dont think anybody else needs convincing that RNH can make anyone on his line better lol.....other than you of course. ...kind of a surprising statement here, its pretty clear who's benefited from who between Ebs and RNH....not that either needs the other, but if we're talkin about who's benefiting from them being on the same line its definetly Ebs
when Nuge put up 106 pts (including 75 assists) his linemates were some kid named Andrej Kudrna, and some kid named John Persson....nuff said so yeah of course his totals will climb with a real NHL sniper on his wing but its clearly the sniper who benefits |

Jonathan Bernier is just not that good. Who would start Bernier over Dubnyk, anyway? Stupid call, coach. Dubey is a much better goalie.
LOL. Keep telling yourself that. |

Who knows, but what we do know is Klefbom was the best d-man at last year's WJC. He has the award to prove it.
As far as Nuge goes, some would say that his great linemates have had the benefit of receiving his sublime passes.
He has never really taken the leading role on his team, (even in Red Deer he was 2nd line/PP guy.) If he can dominate this tourney and bring home gold, it may turn out to be his coming-out party.
I am very interested to see how he handles it. |

Let's see, Bernier last year went 5w 6l 2.36gaa 909sp on Stanley Cup winning team.
Dubnyk went 20w 20l 267gaa 914sp on 29'th place team with terrible Def.
I don't think we have enough info on either of them to make an accurate assessment at this point. But there is nothing in those numbers that says Bernier is any better. It could easily be argued that Duby has proven more at the NHL level at this point. |

For sure. Nothing in those numbers say much for him. But the Kings played terrible for alot of last season. Not to mention there is something to be said if he keeps getting starts over Dub. This isnt the first time. And he wasnt all the fault for the terrible showing of Canada in the cup. If Dub was better he would be starting. |

Sure he does. Gonna be hard to prove it playing behind Quick. But also he cant do all the work when the team was playing awful. Like I said. There is a reason he gets the starts over Dub. |

I'm not sure Cherry is a racist, but he does stick up for Canadians, to a fault. Give him a break, he's 80 years old, he doesn't think like we do. He's from a different generation. - LeftCoaster
That makes it the fault of the broadcasting networks that let intolerant, discriminatory, and possibly senile old men to have a forum for their garbage. Blame the networks and blame the people that don;t change the channel when he is on. |

You realize that Dubnyk is starting for them against HC Davos right now as we speak.
Since Davos (with the likes of Joe Thornton, Pat Kane, L. Ericsson, Brunner, etc.) is a much better team than Mannheim, i guess we can assume that they were saving Duby for the tougher matchup. |

Yes, Gormley was first, but Klefbom was top 2, and i believe he was Gold medal winning Sweden's MVP |

9. You can't judge Canada on one game. These guys haven't played together and ran into a team with a hot goalie that has played half a season as a team already. Canada defenitely should have started Dubnyk. But it wasn't all Bernier's fault, Canada couldn't buy a goal either considering they had a lot of pressure.
Half way through the game against Davos and Canada is taking the play to them its 3-0 and #94 has a goal |

Yeah 4-0 now, and it looks like a completely different team today. |
