Chara will be on the ice for 30min per game, Scott might play 5min at best, that's if Ruff puts him in the line up, he isn't that good.
- Symba007

Make no mistake . Scott will be on the ice for every Bruins game .
I'd bet my life on it. Or for at least the 1st meeting between the 2 teams to lay down the law.

the bruins will dress some behemoth plug to drop mitts and theyll both go for 5.
and not play again for the rest of the game

- hugefemale dog77

I distinctly remember reading many posts by both teams fanbases that recently had Scott going on and on about what an utterly worthless player he was.

I have no idea whether the season will be saved or not, but the one thing I'm pretty certain of is that this whole "the NHL becomes like European soccer" structure will not happen. It would make zero sense for a league that just spent months locking out players to cut costs suddenly allowing that to happen.

Plus it's a structure that only favours the top earning players really, so I would expect the union to cave into CBA demands before that it reaches that point. Yes, it's the theoretical endgame of decertification, but remember that the "all existing contracts are null and void" also represents a threat to the owners.

- S Kaspar Rollins

I dont get why people assume that only the elite will benefit from a free for all. When on earth have the owners ever been able to control their spending, and even with a cap in place idiotic contracts like the Gomez, Komi, Connolly, Leino, Ehrhoff are being signed all the time.

The reality will probably see only the marginal NHLers and 4th liners taking a pay cut, void of a minimal salary.

I love how people think players get scared over one big body, who plays minimal minutes and ends up costing his team via PIMs.

This is true as well to an extent. Nobody should ever forget that the main reason the owners love the cap so much is because it puts a LIMIT on their own stupidity. It also helps spread the stupidity around - rather than teams like the Rangers singlehandedly (frank)ing up the market for everyone else you can also blame teams like the Flames, Oilers, etc.

guaranteed you're an old dude. this this isnt the same game as the 70s and 80s.
heavyweights are a dying breed. toughness and size is still a huge factor, but u need to have a little skill now to make an impact.see milan lucic.
not just some meathead that throws with the other teams meathead and rides pine for 55 mins.

scott gives buffalo no edge in that rivalry at all. boston is far better than buffalo

Hardhead because my opinion is different then you son?

Did you watch the Kings win the Cup last year?

Did you think the Kings would win the Cup last year?

But I am the "hardhead" ?

Point made.

we can all respect opinions, but yours is clearly biased. i saw it last week too. everyone was naming the best goalie in the game and u were the only one who believed miller was..coincedence?

while the rest of us dont cheer for either. we're looking at it objectively

whats the kings refernce in regards to?

One problem with your example of the Kings. They actually have a handful of elite players, tough players with skill and depth. Lets not pretend the Sabres have what the Kings have.

You guys went out and overpayed for Ehrhoff and Leino. They went out and got Richards and Carter. Are we seeing a difference yet?

your points need to be re-evaluated. I get it, you love your team, I love the Sabres as well, but I always prefer to be objective in my opinions. Try that and the guys here will respect you.

Just sayin...

They are not enforcers the ilk of Scott.

Players will shy away from this guy and Scott makes other teams think about taking liberties on our better players whether he is dressed that night or not.

That is what I meant by serving the purpose of Darcy acquiring him.

To think that does not happen in the league still I feel leaves you naive. If you know you just took liberties roughing Vanek up or running Miller you better know that the next time you face this team you will have to man up to Scott.

That's my point!

i just wanted to hear him say it so i could refute it (kinda like our "whos tanking" discussion yesterday )

the kings and the sabres have almost nothing in common. there big guys could also play.

But the difference here is that the Kings actually have a good team.

They were underachieving for most of the season.

The Kings have perhaps (I KNOW LUNDQVISTERS I SAID PERHAPS ) the best goalie in the league, along with Brown, Carter, Kopitar, Richards, Doughty and even Voynov I think is going to be really good.

The Sabres over here have Myers, Ennis, Pominville, Vanek.........it's just not the same.

Comparing the Kings and the Sabres is ridiculous. I did see the Kings' Cup run. It was one of the most dominate performances by any sports team I've ever seen in any sport. But you need to get there first. The Kings did. The Sabres.....a bit of a question mark, to say the least....

Point made?
