it's almost to the point where i'd rather watch hockey at home than go live. sure it's great to see the games live but the atmosphere is sterile and it feels like everyone is "trying" to have a great time. not to mention that 3/4 of the people there don't know much about hockey.

having said that, nothing beats live playoff hockey. nothing!

that's why i can be glib about there not being a hockey season right now but i'm gonna be p!ssed in april. the first round of hockey playoffs is my FAVOURITE time of the year. nothing can beat coming home and having 3 or 4 games on tv that mean so much, not to mention the overtimes. i think i'm going to cry now.

I agree with your entire statement, except that I partially disagree with the bolded part. Game 1 of the finals and I have to explain the rules to the people next to me. It kinda ruined it for me that $$ trumped passion because it was the "cool place to be".

Edit: Also, the Nashville game I was at sucked. And the whole point of having tickets is to get playoff priority.

Like i said, Adam Henrique was best player for NJD and best penalty killer in NHL last year but didn't win the award because the awards are base on reputation.

So you're a NJ fan eh?
Unfortunately I can't diss your organization due to the amazing things Lou has done for my family

Right Now, Team Canada. He was crying and making bro list in Ek's thread...

Marty is the man, always been my favorite tender, seems like an all round good guy too, wish he could play forever.
- sloppyseconds2

I agree with all this except the last part!!

I can truly say I hate Marty because, and simply because, he was a great tender.

Huge respect for him as a player on and off the ice. Class act

yeah, you're absolutely right.

you should have to pass a written and oral test to:
1) have kids;
2) vote; and
3) go to a playoff game.

I've made it to nearly as many playoff games in the past 5 years as I have regular season games. I just can't justify sitting through the lack of intensity at such a high cost.

i've been going to fewer and fewer games just b/c i don't find that the scalper prices are worth it. i can afford it but i can't justify it.

ahhh, i remember the good ole days of the coliseum. even though i was in school, i could get tix to ALL the playoff games (even if i bought from scalpers).

I'll bring you to a few games if/when they return. I might have to leave the game early if the kid insists, and if you don't mind upper bowl the tickets are yours.

Not really.

Being a Flyers fan, Marty has a "special" place in my heart. To me, he'll always be a player that makes me say "ohhhhhhhh god" when we play him.

As for last year, I dunno. I mean I always though Parise was one hell of a player and your best hands down. As for number 2- I said Marty and not Kovy maybe because the Flyers seemed to do a good job of containing him? Henrique is great too but he didn't hurt us much, that I could remember. Could be it. Clarkson seemed to kill us too.

Keep in mind the only time I really paid a lot of attention to you guys was when we played you!

Impressed at Kovy's 2-way play though. Wow did he really transform that.

- Giroux_Is_God

Parise was still our motor. His leadership was what was missing from all our post 05 lockout teams. We had no real captain, just someone with a C stitched on their jersey. Kovy was just a dominant player and without him, we lose a lot of our games early on. Not to mention Kovy can handle shutdown pairings much better.

Overlooked in all this is Elias once again. Top 10 in points, carried the second line, went up against mostly top lines.

who you thinking for the superbowl?

i'm thinking it's pretty open this year. there are about 5-6 teams that have a shot in my opinion but not really a clear cut favourite.

Love him too. Last year he was a pretty average goalie though. I can't say I expect good things from him after he has taken such a long break.

#8. NY Rangers

The Rangers will bring their three headed monster into the new season and being able to put a power play together with Richards, Gaborik, and Rick Nash won't suck. The Rangers have suffered towards the ends of seasons as of late because they played Lundqvist too many games. A shortened season will keep him fresh come playoff time.

- Eklund

did you watch the rangers at all last season. Hence the playing lundqvist only 61 games. What is wrong with you?

we pretty much know that ek only watches flyers games and forms his opinions on other teams based on highlights he sees.

I think it was nyr30 and russian source were making him cry. I think nyr30 went from 1st to 6th after making him cry and went back 1st after a week.

that is something that we should discuss. i hadn't given it thought before but it definitely has merit.

i've always viewed seattle sports teams as the home team so i have no qualms about watching the hawks every week.
