Time for the players to start considering putting together their own league. Leverage is - WillieAA
It. Is. Not. Possible.
Not sure how many times people will suggest this and not realize how it is simply not going to happen ever. It is not feasible in anyway so stop with the idea of an alternative league.

Well, there's not a lot involved who actually celebrate Christmas, especially on the owners' side.
The owners I'm sure are getting to the point where they know even if a season were to happen, getting things up and running would still mean a loss for most, so they will no doubt begin getting even more demanding.
Time for the players to start considering putting together their own league. Leverage is the only thing that makes the owners willing to compensate them for lack of mobility that you only find in pro sports.
It would be hilarious to see the owners trying to rebuild their franchise values with the top 150 players in another league, and watching them pay more than they're willing to now to lure guys back to their league. - WillieAA
lol okay buddy, some people don't have a clue...you can't just setup a league, where are they gonna play? who on earth is gonna pay top dollar to watch the NHLPA league? These guys can barely put together a charity all star game and when they do nobody cares |

Did Someone say secret meeting?
Somewhere, with someone who may meet in 48 or 72 hours.... sounds good.

Players could do it.
They are the product. They are the ones who generate the record revenues.
They don't need the greedy owners. |

Players don't need to worry about that, or even bother to ask about it.
Donald Fehr will figure it out.
Fehr is doing an excellent job.
The players will tell you this, even though they just voted to fire him.
The players don't need the owners.
Just ask MJL |

People said the same thing about the WHA when it started up...The new NHL won't have a competing league to contend with and I'm pretty sure there are tons of potential playerz who would love to own an NHL franchise...Loads of the details would take care of themselves as the idea moves forward... |

Exactly, my big boned friend.
If you are going to start up a $3 billion a year industry, you can't get bogged down in the details. You just need to jump in with both feet.
One thing, though: when new investors line up to buy a new team, the players have to make it crystal clear: the players call the shots. |

No salary cap, no contract restrictions, sounds fair and will be VERY attractive for investors. Should be easy to find another 30 billionaires who don't care if they lose money every year, hockey teams are only toys for them after all. |

I wish you'd replace your BS'ometer with a photo of a steaming turd or something. It would be a more accurate depiction of where things stand. If it had been making progress for the last 3 months, wouldn't there be a deal already? |

What about the owners? They force people to change their avatars all the time.
Fehr offered to let you use the Vader avatar back in November. Did you conveniently forget that?
Oh Lord, I'm bored. |
