Part of NHL's filing includes section requesting declaration that "all existing contracts between NHL players and teams would be void."

I'm betting some owners with specific players in mind aren't happy with that one, like many I'm thinking this is about to get to a level of ugly we've never seen before.

Yep. Either it will get much better very quickly or it will degenerate into voiding contracts, cancelling the season and starting fresh with a fantasy draft in June.

Then have fun signing everybody in time for that October.

Ugly times. If anything other sports leagues have learn via the NHL how not to run and manage a pro league.

What really sucks is that it was always Bettman and the BOG's intend to go the lockout route first.
