You kidding me, it's painfully true for all of us. You may not put much stock in what he says, but you keep coming back. You keep reading what he has to say. And you keep posting on his Forum. Ek is clearly doing something right.

How can you live in the land of the bean and the cod, and hate the Pats?

Tired of them creating too many traffic jams from Superbowl victory parades?

- Atomic Wedgie

No. Just always hated them.. Add to that I hate the Bruins and Red Sox equaly as much.. Plus been a Niner fan from the 70's and days of John Brodie and gene Washington.. Sprinkle in I find not one thing likable about Bill Bellichech as well.. Never bought into the I live here so I HAVE to root for the home team crap

We all come here for the desperate need to discuss hockey. His website actually provides a great forum for doing so. If Ek rebranded a bit I bet this site takes off. People don't come here for rumors. They come here to discuss hockey. There are some great bloggers on this site and that is why until this lockout I never ventured onto the Ek's comments unless it was to discuss something major that already occured with fans outside of NYR. Unfortunately the NYR thread is dead because the lockout is old news and we are all waiting for simple hockey talk.

What Ek should do is label this site for what it is. A hockey blog site for people to discuss news and speculation around the NHL. Most team bloggers are a good read and the great team conversations in the comments section are draws people back to the site.

Ek wouldn't take flack from people if he had blogs labeled as speculation and opinion on certain matters and blogged the same way his own writters do. Thats why people come to the site.

LMAO. I didn't tell you why you come here or discuss your motives in anyway. I just simply stated that we all keep coming back and spending time on the site. And we do. That simple.

Let's go easy on MJL. He's handicapped by a social disorder that leaves him woefully unable to be wrong about anything. He is under the misguidance that simple points of view are to be scrutinized and rebutted with his own personal opinions which he logs in a journal daily, because he believes if words are in print, they are irrefutable facts.

Did you grow up elsewhere and move to Boston?

I lived there for a year, and ended up rooting for all the home teams (still loved the Leafs, but cheered for the Bruins on a day to day basis).

For me, it was inevitable. It's the newspaper and TV coverage - you can't help but get to know the teams, and then from there you just start rooting for them.

Funny thing about the Pats - I lived in Boston in 2000, when they went 5-11. And that record probably flattered them. But of course I got a couple of hats and a sweatshirt and some t-shirts - for which I probably paid about $30 total.

Moved back to Toronto in spring of 2001, and got mercilessly mocked by friends about adopting the Patsies as my new team.

OK, I'll try.

I think President Cleveland was entirely justified in calling in the troops to end the Pullman Strike of 1894, and to have the union leaders arrested and jailed on charges of conspiracy to obstruct interstate commerce, violation of the Sherman Anti-Trust Act of 1890, and obstruction of the US mails.

Cleveland saved the nation from the forces of socialism and
anarchy.

After a peaceful rally, in order to gain additional support for the boycott, strikers took matters in their own hands- "derailing a locomotive, destroying the yards and setting fire to anything that moved"

No I have lived here my whole life.. Since I was about 5. Leafs, 49ers and yes the Pittsburg Pirates. Going to school as a kid during the Bobby Orr era and rooting against the Bruins was diffficult for a young kid but as my dad said it billed character.. You are right about TV media etc.. Radio talk shows. Oh its crammed down your throat etc.. Just because I hate these teams doesnt mean I won't admit how good the are. the Pats are outstanding. But doesnt mean I have to like em.. Which made the last two Super Bowl losses against the Giants very sweet for me

Ah, WEEI.

I think it is terrific that they hire the mentally handicapped.

I'm just not sure it's wise to make them all on-air hosts...

Random but another sad thing about helping out fans here is I was trying to take advantage of the lockout a bit. I was hoping there was some sort of crazy sales on merchandise to help owners make SOME money now..but nothing. That sucks.

Anyone know if teams giving any incentives to get on a STH waiting list?

Leafs just gave me a free pair of Raptors tickets. Too bad I hate basketball.

Last lockout, they sent me a box at Christmas with Leafs wrapping paper and bows. It was actually pretty cool.

You should see if you can trade those 2 tickets for 1 Raptors Dance Pack girl.
