so a 48 games season then?

Can't wait for the groin injury fest and to see the Rocket Richard trophy being awarded for a 24 goal performance.

While I applaud your optimism, I just can't believe at this point that there is a deal out there.

Too much bad blood has taken this thing from a business negotiation to a hate filled jibber jabber war being played out in the media.

The NHLPA has already proven that they aren't smart enough to see a good deal when it's front of their faces so why would they now accept a deal that includes what the owners wanted last week? If they did accept the owners '3' items and a new CBA was signed then they would have thrown a paycheck out the window for nothing.

Sorry, I just don't see it happening any time soon.

I saw that thing this guy does, it's a meter, but with a hockey stick, and it tells you how close we are to seeing NHL hockey. The problem with it though is that, last week, Bettman and the owners broke that stick in two pieces and shoved it in the aforementioned guy's behind.

Wow! I don't usually get too critical about your updates Ek, but wow! You might as well print this one and use it as a standard form letter for use in the next lockout!

Seriously, if you don't have anything other than unfounded hunches, how about you just wait til you've learned something new. Because stating that 2/3's of your other tin foil hat wearing sources think there might be a meeting and it might be at an undisclosed place and they might bridge the gap and they might play in January is about as credible as saying monkeys might fly out of your.... well you know.

Big picture is this....despite the ridiculousness of it all we are NOT looking at a cancelled NHL season in 12-13. This will be a very short lockout. Very short. In fact, where I once believed we wouldn't be playing until end of November I now believe we will be playing in October and may not even miss a single regular season game...

Im kinda getting sick of this, it makes me think we could be back in the 70s.
Im sure with a couple years of support, at this rate a rival leauge could over take the NHL in popularity.
why must they have a monopoly on the north american market?
heres to the EHL! (Extreme Hockey Leauge)
and the rebirth of WHA! (now including euromarkets!)

whos with me!?

Eklund, I'd like to know exactly why they are so close that it's not worth losing the season in Relation to 04-05?

Just not interested in having a season begining in mid january. Baseball will be begining their season with Pitchers and catchers reporting to Spring Training. If they wanted to have a season they should of thought about that instead of being a bunch of bumholes...
I love hockey but I'm not a sucker. A backlash has to happen by the fans when they do come back or this will just repeat itself.
