So what you are saying is that if you had the choice of NShultz, JShultz and Petry, JShultz would be 3rd on your list? - BoBBeR56
?? i dont understand how u read that from my post.
i suppose it makes it easier to retort in the fashion u wanted, but still doesnt make any sense as to what i wrote |

You were stating incorrectly that he was going to be handed ice time with no contest...this was not true. - OilHorse
Not necessarily,
I'm just saying out of Van, NYR and Edmonton I think it's safe to say that he chose the location which gave him the best opportunity at getting ice time.
Simply said, if he actually made the rosters of Van or NY he would be a bottom pairing guy, on Edm he was likely to get a top four role merely because of the lack of competition within his own franchise. |

Neither of those guys has the talent that Justin Schultz does. The oilers are likely to give Schultz way more ice time to develop into the superstar that he is. I'm only stating this because I've seen this before from the Sabres in 09. Sure they had a couple of decent D-men but they knew full well that Tyler Myers was way more talented than any of them so rather than pull rank they just fed him the ice time and it led to calder trophy. - Sabresfan-365
Let's go easy on the S-word, let's wait until he's played an NHL game

So you actually witnessed him doing the deed with someone else cheating on your friend? Was it you he did it with? Or is this just a subjective view of the events? |

Regarding his OK City comments: Wow, he's still a d!ck. Nothing like showing contempt for the fan base of the team you chose to play for. He'll fit right in with the Don Fehr led NHLPA. - duxcup07
I wouldn't go as far as agreeing with him when he said they don't know much about hockey, but they sure as hell don't seem to care much about hockey. I've watched a handful of Barons games this year, and I haven't seen attendance top 3000. (I'm probably wrong on the number... whatever) The point is, there are hardly any butts in the seats, and maybe that's what he was referring to. If that's the case, he's not off base at all. It's easy to misquote someone or to take stuff out of context. |

Jake Gardiner, a new-look Lupul and now Justin Schultz... Anaheim NEEDED this lockout to just take a breath and think about how things went so wrong. At least Holland is looking like he will be a lock for next year's team. But still I still wonder what the real reason was for Schultz to turn his back on the club. Maybe it's his maturity, or maybe it's Anaheim's chances at ever being a cup contender (Getzlaf and Perry are potentially going to walk as well, but i doubt Schultz would predict that...), but whatever it was I hope Anaheim gets some positive karma in their corner next year (maybe in the form of Perry and Getzlaf) and they make another playoff appearance. |

honnestly not trying to be a hater because i can't wait to watch the Oilers young fresh and flashy tear it up, but i really REALLY hope Justin understands that the NHL is NOT the AHL nor is it even close, if anything the AHL is good at teaching future NHLers the 2way game, i hope he doesnt think he's gonna come into the NHL and put up those numbers...and even if he does (which i hope he does) it'll come at a cost with the Oilers D being what it is for every point he scores who's coverin for him on the Oil? when your that offensive minded in the NHL you need a damn good partner or you'll get burnt everytime
so sure he might be Mike Green for a bit but his Defense on the defensive side is gonna be under incredible scrutny and to be honnest i'm not seeing who's THAT D on the oil he's gonna learn to balance it out from.....Whitney?.....
guess we'll see all in all i feel bad for Ducks fans but hey its karma for the Pronger thing i guess |

B.S, if that's the case he would have signed in Vancouver.
Gillis made it very clear that he would, as you said, have to work for his ice time.
The next day he signs in Edmonton
I'm not trying to be bitter and jeolous but I think it's pretty clear that ice time and role was a major factor in his decision, as noted by everyone in the mainstream.
Hence the reason for turning down powerhouses like Van and NYR.
All the more reason to be a happy Oil fan bro. - Whiskey-Tango
Edmonton will be better than Vancouver in 2 or 3 years. The Canucks have jumped the shark.

how about we chalk this up to the hockey gods evening out the Pronger trade. BTW, the kid still hasnt laced up a skate in an NHL game. Just because you tear up the AHL doesnt mean that will transition into the nhl. |
