ive backed the players through this entire process, until now, they royally (frank)ed up this week and they only have themselves and fuhr to thank.

i hate bettman with passion, but for once, i actually think he was doing what he could to get the deal done, which is not what the PA is doing...they are still playing hardball...which is about the only sport we'l be watching til October of next year, if were lucky.

It's crazy to think, but with this PA - id be suprised if they have it figured out by next year.

No it was 5 years initially until they realized the owners signed longer deals right before the lockout, it was a save face, read Adam Proteau of the Hockey news on that one. Even Dreger and MacKenzie as well as a few other big media types said it.

there is 0 NHL players who made it on simple grind.

these guys are all all stars in every league, some just have the talent to continue to be an all star at the AHL/NHL level.

i have friends who are so die hard for hockey but suck, and would be in a D division mens league but live for the game, so i aint buying the "hard work" = NHL level players, thats sooooooooo not even close to true.

and that's how it turned out for fehr last night after taking a take it or leave type offer and try to break it apart.

I agree, there has to be a basic level of coordination, balance, agility etc.

I am just saying there are a lot of guys who are very close in ability and desire and determination makes the difference.

Conversely, a guy like Patrick O'Sullivan had talent out the wazoo but frittered it away because he never worked at being the best.

Owners made a proposal, the PA changed the proposal(meaning it is no longer the owners proposal) and the owners disagreed with the PA's changes. You seem to think owners rejected their own proposal. Which is not the case.
