After watching everything I'm confident this gets done in the next 2-3 days ....tonight is just negotiating showmanship.

They are really too close to have this slip away.

Players - we agree on the 300 milly now lets negotiate the final "3 issues"
Owners - the 300 milly is conditional on your accepting our proposal on those "3 issues"

Someone will blink ...it'll be done soon.

More like the league knows he is a brick wall. Fehr right now is a major roadblock, more so than Goodenow was 8 years ago.

700 plus players can afford to throw that away, priceless

We're not gonna see hockey for a long time, I hope they're out two years and several teams fold.

I watched Bettman talk, and i almost believe he was sincere in his grief over all this. The way he laid into the reporter who asked him about his 3 lockouts in 20 years blew my mind. Not to mention the rest of his rants. Either he is a evil genius, or he is sincerely sincere.

Don't think I've ever seen Bettman so rattled.

I love it.

However this ends, hope he gets canned. Not like Daly is any better but it's a start.

I saw the whole press conference and he seemed angry more than anything. I think the sincerity is coming from his unusual display of emotion. You aren't gullible, it's just something Bettman has never really done before.

The one thing they said multiple times is their "package deal". They make an offer and expect the NHLPA to just accept it rather than submit a counter proposal. This is why they hate Fehr so much. He took what they offered, changed parts of it and the owners flipped their lid because they didn't instantly accept it.

I don't like Bettman, nobody does. But between him and Fehr, its easy to see who the bumhole is.

At least Bettman is trying to get hockey back, Fehr is just trying to bleed the nhl for all its got.

Well done NHLPA.. You successfully managed to piss off the 4 owners that wanted to get a deal done as soon as possible.
Bettman showed a lot of emotion during his press conference. The guy may be a "weasel" but, it sounded like he is more interested in getting the game back on the ice, than the players are.

Not sure what Donald Fehr's end game is here, so I wouldn't be surprised if this thing drags into 2014.

Fehr believes that eventually the owners will negotiate against themselves and it is evident that they won't. As they won't give up on their 3 key issues.

How dare they try to negotiate!!! For shame. That is why they are afraid of him. He's using what the owners propose to try to get what the players want. that is how this is supposed to go. It's absurd that the PA continually sends back counter-proposals based entirely off the league's proposal, but it's unacceptable. It's ludicrous.

I don't like Bettman, nobody does. But between him and Fehr, its easy to see who the bumhole is.
