the 10-12 year deals have to go, they have to. (with it would go the front loading of the deals) see: Kovalchuk, Suter, Parise, etc. I think 5 year limits on deals is ok.

5 years is fair . They could end up making more money with teams bidding for them when the time comes up.

I can't see where the deal happens now. The NHL and the Gary weren't even there to take them seriously. Fehr is probably still trying to negotiate health care and crap like that.

Bettman didn't need to be there. Daly was there. I fully believe there will be a deal and Hockey will be played this Season.

The 5 year CBA that players are proposing is not going to bring the fans back. We don't want to go through this again in 5 years.

Be careful not to think that these moments of setbacks spell doom for the entire season ...they don't. The sides are too close for that. We are playing hockey this year, we just don't know when there will be an agreement that allows it to happen.

Dallas Stars defenseman Alex Goligoski, a former Minnesota Gopher, is on the NHLPA negotiating committee. Goligoski, who was not in New York, cautioned earlier Wednesday that there has been false hope throughout the lockout.

“It is positive that some progress was made, but until you’re in the final stages of this thing and things are agreed on by both sides, it’s almost foolish to be too optimistic,” Goligoski said.
