No you wouldn't.
- Fakepartofme

Would you rather be a Canucks fan or Oilers fan? Personally i hate Oilers fans, but i would be very happy with their prospects.

@ldsooner asks - Aside from Gardiner, who on the Marlies are candidates for employment with the Leafs? Does Rielly have a chance of sticking?

Yes, let's rush yet another prospect, place unrealistic expectations upon him and then female dog and complain when his progress stalls.

This is the stupidest question ever.......when the (frank) will Leaf fans learn this is not what you do with your top prospects. Look at teams like Detroit and New Jersey you stupid (frank) who asked this question.

Nope, no Kadri, Rielly, Gardiner, Percy, Finn, Biggs, Frattin, McKegg, Ross or Blacker
- LeafMan

So no Luongo or 1st line centre to TO via trade.

id rather not, keep reimer/scrivens, if we suck, good, we open up a TON of cap space next year, some guys are off the books and a few HUGE free agents are available. Not to mention if we dont play well for what this *half season (if it even happens). - id be happy with another top 5 pick.

Lu is a stop gap, exactly what the leafs have been custom to for years, this is why we are in the position we are in.

is Lu a good goalie, yes, is he passed his prime, most likely.

so what we just give up on reimer/scrivens and have LU take the helm? no thanks!

- big_dion

Ya he's a 4- 5 year stop gap....it would be horrible to have a top goalie for that long.
The leafs need to create a winning environment....you want to get the "HUGE" free agents that are available...they are going to come to consistently losing team with AHL goalies.
Get Lou....wait for Sparks...its perfect timing.
Just dont overpay.

I disagree. If Rielly is ready let him play. The kid is far better then the league he's playing in, how does that help his development? I trust Carlyle more than you. And who have the Leafs rushed? Kadri has been up and down but he definitely put in his time in the AHL

Sign them as free agents if possible, don't trade the prospects that have some potential to make it, we need to develop some of these players. If the centre is elite and young, well then you do it but no team really gives them up now do they?.

You don't frighten us, English pig dogs. Go and boil your bottoms, you sons of a silly person. I blow my nose at you, so-called "Arthur King," you and all your silly English K-nig-hts.

I don't want to talk to you no more, you empty headed animal food trough wiper. I fart in your general direction. Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries.

now go away or I shall taunt you a second time.

Agree, a losing environment has been contagious for this team. They cannot seem to break the losing cycle. Bringing in a solid presence on the back end will halp drastically, me thinks.

But don't over pay. That's where this get tricky, but if it ever could be done I think this is the situation where it is feasible.

Rielly wont be on the team this year, period.
And no he isn't far better than the league he is playing.....he's 41st in scoring and 3rd among dman.
The kid is good...but lets stick to reality, please.

You can say the same about Chamberlain signing of the Munich Agreement in 1938, waving the piece of paper getting off the plane, yeah that stopped Hitler.

Moose Jaw is atrocious. Watch the games don't just look at the stats. There will be no hockey this year, but he'll be on the roster next year.

Or a goalie coach and system that can elevate average goalies to an elite level.

Remember Luke Schenn?

Who exactly have the Leafs successfully developed to an elite level in your lifetime?? Why would you want to bring a kid into this poop show of an environment as a teenager?? Let's take our time, let him grow into a great player instead of expecting him to be one right off the hop.

Unless the Leafs unload a lot of the D they currently have.
He wont be a consistent NHLer until the following year.
