Not at all surprising that you would think it's a great blog. One of the most ridiculous I've read on the lockout. - MJL
Pretty much every comment you leave is ridiculous. Perhaps you should be writing blogs too then. |

But why...Why in the world are the players sending Sidney Crosby and Jonathan Toews? Seriously, why have the meeting at all if these two are the knuckleheads that are going to do the talking for the players? Things are going from bad to worse.
I'm sure sending any two Oilers players would be better, because not only are the Oilers players the worlds greatest hockey players, they are also the most intelligent people in the world. Just another case of the I don't have these guys on my team so I'll bash them.
I think it's hilarious that people attack the education level of hockey players and call out their high school education. Jealous much? I'm sure all of you would turn down the NHL to go to University or College. |

As much as I dislike him, Horcoff should have been there. Not only does he have a finance degree, but he also has a lot to lose, so he may actually put forth an effort to get something done... |

Here's a tip: If you want this situation to get sorted, send the owners of the six teams in most financial difficulty, and let them meet with six borderline NHL players in their 30's. All involved would actually negotiate, because there would be some urgency to fix this. Does Crosby, wobbly noggin and all, even care if he ever plays again? Likely no. He's set for life. Even with no hockey being played, he continues to rake in the cash by endorsing products. Seems to me I've seen Toews do some bad acting as well.
Yup, hockey players work their whole lives to become talented enough to play in the NHL for a couple years, save up millions (cause they don't have agents or spend any), and are content with never playing again if they get hurt or if theres a lockout, etc.
Hockey players don't love the game. Duh. Their greedy millionaires. |

I think it's hilarious that morons like you assume that clout's thinks players from the oilers would be better simply because he is the oilers blogger on hockey buzz. Please point out in his blog where he stated "players from the oilers would be better and im other players cause they arent on my team" part of his blog cause i missed that part.
His point was simple but missed by all the dullards that read it. Sending the guys from the PA that are making tons of money have more millions to lose so there objectivity might not be the same as someone making less money.
How is he in any way jealous of there education? Simply pointing out a fact, that they may be poorly educated. Lots of players turn down the NHL and instead opt to play college hockey and get an education. Didn't justin shultz choose to play college hockey for 2 years after Anaheim drafted him???? Dumbass - ruttager17
It's not simply because he's the Oilers blogger, it's the language with which he speaks. There's no bad Oilers players other than Horcoff and Omark in his mind from what I've read. Everyone else are heroes. It was a sarcastic exaggeration, since you didn't pick it up.
The jealous of education wasn't for Cloutier, it was for the previous posters commenting on the NHL players education. Those "lots of players" that turn down the NHL to play college didn't turn down the NHL to play college. They didn't have a roster spot. Schultz is a rare exception, maybe he just didn't want to play in Anaheim from the start? Since you called me a dumbass, I'll point out that Schultz was drafted in 2008, so he's been in college for more than two years.
My whole point is that having two team Captains like Crosby and Toews doesn't hurt anything at this point. Also, calling out a person's education is sad and arrogant. A University degree doesn't automatically make you smarter than someone who has a high school diploma. They'll let anyone into University these days. |

Toews had two years in the American collegiate system after graduating high school. That doesn't make him 'smart' per say, but between he and David Backes, you're not going find many better representatives for the upper echelon of players. - MaximumBone
This. Toews is a smart young man and he commands a degree of respect, because he projects it. |

On another note, if there are any Edmonton fans actually from Edmonton and catch Oil King games can you tell me why in the (frank) Reinhart was sent to the selection camp? Other than his draft location last year of course. |

Past achievement and pedigree. Hes been admittedly pretty mediocre so far this year. If he gets through this slump, he can still be an extremely dominant player. Just goin to camp doesnt guarantee him of anything. Im glad he's getting a shot |

I only ask because Cody Ceci is having a tremendous season for the terrible Ottawa 67's and, in my opinion, deserved a shot over Reinhart among others. I don't think the past should be a tool for picking the World Juniors. Success at a tournament like that runs off who's hot and who can develop chemistry the fastest.
Just like Scott Harrington shouldn't have been sent to camp just because he was on the team last year. He's awful this season. |

Ceci may be a point per game player, but his plus minus is terrible. |
