2009.

Orr vs. Burke.

Burke comes out swinging. Orr quickly backs him into a corner, starts raining blows down on Burke, until he cowers and offers a 4 year, $4 million contract.

Orr signs it.

Never said Orr never won a fight. My point was that Foligno would not back down and he would beat Orr in a fight. imo

The owners will probably sell their teams and fold the league after meeting the deluded motor-mouth, Miller.

Miller's a great goalie but sometimes he needs to know when to shut up, I will seriously be pissed if he ruins the meeting and the season gets cancelled for the year.

Well, you certainly are entitled to your opinion.

But here's the thing: Orr has played 8 seasons in the NHL.

378 games.

11 goals.

9 assists.

But just in case you can't interpret those numbers, let me help: he has no hockey talent whatsoever.

Yet he's been in an NHL line-up 378 times.

You might want to think about why.

Foligno can play hockey. He doesn't need to fight Orr.

Nor should he.

And I guess another little beef I have with some of the idiot players speaking out. They have the nerve to call out Bettman/Owners and now are speaking directly with the owners on behalf of the NHLPA and yet don't even negotiate their own salary contracts but leave it to their agents? I'm not saying the owners/gm's are saints with handing these contracts out but I have to imagine dealing with an agent is a nightmare. I'm sure many phone calls with agents start out with "Don't even communicate with us unless the years are ....... and the money is ........."

I guess I missed the part where buffalokb suggested that they should put accountants on the ice.

Miller needs to
A. work on preventing soft goals
B. stop making excuses for "average" play on the ice
C. Focus on being a goalie not a team leader
D. focus on being a hockey player, not a specialist in labor relations

Hah tell me that's a joke. As scrappy as Foligno is he wouldn't fight any enforcer let alone a heavy hitter like Colton Orr. He's only a few seasons removed from his debatable year as heavyweight king.

He can't keep up enough to play at the NHL level anymore and he's lost some serious beard since his devastating concussion but he's still got a jackhammer for an arm.

Sources: Significant Progress Made Toward Ending NHL Lockout
December 3, 2012 11:16 PM

OSTON (CBS) – The NHL lockout has been going on for 79 days and on Tuesday, a select group of owners and players are scheduled to meet in New York.

Sources tell WBZ-TV’s Steve Burton that an unannounced meeting was held Monday with a high-ranking official from each side, and significant progress was made toward salvaging the hockey season. It’s possible an announcement could come as soon as tomorrow or Wednesday.

Burton spoke with Bruins forward Milan Lucic at Joe Andruzzi’s foundation dinner, and he’s very excited about the possibility of getting back to work.

“You know if your sources are correct obviously it’s great news,” says Lucic. “It’s great for the fans I think especially. I know they’ve been probably going through the most heartache than anyone.”

Lucic says he was optimistic that the season would be salvaged and that played a big role in his decision not to go to Europe. He admits that it will take him a little longer to get into shape than those who are playing right now.

“You’re not in game shape if you’re not playing games,” Lucic said smiling. “It might take me a little bit to get back into game shape but you know I’m confident in myself that I’m going to be able to get back and I know guys in Europe that I’ve talked to, that they would like nothing more than to come back here and play in the league that they want to play in most and that’s the NHL.”

So half the committee is already from the PA's 1%ers? Failure.
- Double_A

Exactly.
Garth kept going on and on about the 'hawks' on the owners side making it tough to get a deal done. Couldnt the exact same be said from the other side? The group assembled from the PA is far from ideal.

And as far as miller goes; its true he's well spoken, articulate, etc etc. But hes a hardliner for the PA. It wont be any easier to get a deal done with him around than with jacobs. As much as he thinks the owners just wanna take, the owners feel hes one of the PA that just wont give.
