i think you might be over-valuing Percy just a bit
Percy is good.. but not a REAL strong skater.. he really needs to work on that moving forward.
and since the tourney is being held in russian it will be on the larger ice surface. I think his skating would be exploited over there. Think Scott Stevens in the olympics.. just not a good enough skater to keep up. - Dozzer
How did i over value percy? I just said like since he wasnt invited you can say the other guys who were(besides the top guys) are special or almost similar. Like Ouellet, Murphy, sproul, and wotherspoon |

Anyone watch the Marlies game yesterday?
I'm just wondering how Kadri looked at centre.

Seems everyone is missing one defenceman who will get a serious look when or if the NHL starts up this year or next, he wears #17 with the Marlies.
Hello everyone, sorry Dozzer for not getting back to you, busy, busy last week. |

Ranger could be big for us if he returns to form... but so far his output isn't that impressive. |

You'd have to imagine he's not that motivated back in the AHL. Well i hope that's the case. |

His numbers look pretty consistent with what he was doing with the Lightning.

Besides, we don't need him putting up points.
Not with Gardiner and Rielly - who combined will look better than Bourque and Coffey from the 1987 Team Canada powerplay.
Yeah, I said it.
Deal with it. |

I really hope that's not the case... if he's not motivated now, when he needs to prove his worth as much as possible, he's not going to go anywhere.
I'm hoping that it's still rust. |

Put it this way, would you rather have Ranger or Komi in the lineup? lol. Also looks like Eakins is turning Blacker into more of a shutdown d-man, it's taking away from his offensive upside, no PP time, hope that works out for him. |

Meh he's behind Kostka and Gardiner, then the aforementioned Ranger and Gysbers when they play. He'll get his chance if the NHL starts and Gardiner is gone plus maybe one of the others up to the big club. Don't like keeping him off the PP since that was one of the reasons they drafted him, but oh well. |

I guess I was expecting more from a guy who's supposed to be a top-4 offensive dman in the NHL, than somewhere under half a point per game in the AHL. |

Just a note, Percy is the go to shut down guy for the Steelheads, does a really good job against the best players in the OHL which he is up against every game, his skating is not as bad as people say, his positioning is really good, smart player. |

True story, Mike Fountain beat out Marty Brodeur and Chris Osgood for the right to back-up Trevor Kidd at the world juniors.....
As for Dumba getting the invite to camp....ummm, did he not captain the U18 team and put up these numbers?
Canada U18 [C] WJC-18 7 5 7 12
I'd imagine that that performance puts him in pretty good spot for making this team. |

Might be good in the long-run. As is said very often here, offence is about instinct, it's defense that you learn. So if they get his defensive game up to a high level, and then let him go back to offense, we might have a pretty damned good all-around defender in him. |
