Dear Eck.. I usually don't do this . but here goes.. I make less than 70 K a year. I cant afford tickets to any game let alone seasons. I have never won a stanley cup..I have never had the good fortune of playing pro hockey.I work a miserable 40 hour a week job with no chance of OT.. I hate what I do but do to marketplace I must shut up and punch the clock each day. I am divorced and my child never gets to rub noses with anyone in hockey. I looked forward to watching NHL each year as a stress relief and for enjoyment. I am not hurt I am PISSED off

this statement represents me and most likely, 90% of hockey fans. and when my boss makes extra money I dont expect him to split it with me. He takes the risk he should reap the benefits of his risks. These guys are fighting over an abundance (maybe not now) of income. If there was a drop in income I could see a reason to battle it out from both sides. The PA has pissed me off as well and the greedy fn players can kiss my arse! anyone that wants to say something in the players favor can also kiss my arse!

Good Call.... My wife and both have very good paying jobs and I can promise you I wont be spending any 25k a year for anything other then our home and family beach house. I love hockey but 25k a year?? This letter kinda just doesnt sounds right

I don't spend $25,000 a year in season hockey tickets but I do spend close to $10,000.
That IS the going rate these days depending on your market and where you sit.
I think this a great blog and I get how passionate and frustrated this guy is.
Who knows, maybe you aren't as passionate about the game as this guy, and maybe he doesn't own 2 homes.

Not rich... Pays 25k a year for seasons tickets. Oh that makes a lot of sense.

He's probably just using the Romney definition of middle-class.
