Nice letter...but for someone to say they pay $25k per year for the last 10 years for season tickets and also say they are not wealthy...well I guess their definition of wealthy is far different than mine.

Dear Eck.. I usually don't do this . but here goes.. I make less than 70 K a year. I cant afford tickets to any game let alone seasons. I have never won a stanley cup..I have never had the good fortune of playing pro hockey.I work a miserable 40 hour a week job with no chance of OT.. I hate what I do but do to marketplace I must shut up and punch the clock each day. I am divorced and my child never gets to rub noses with anyone in hockey. I looked forward to watching NHL each year as a stress relief and for enjoyment. I am not hurt I am PISSED off

i'm just done...i will never be rich and i will never pay 25k for tickets. my time to truly love the game has passed

Those of you commenting on the amount of money the guy spends on tickets and the fact that he apparently has a personal relationship with those in and close to the game, have missed the point of the article.

Yep, the players and owners have finally allowed us all to realize that the NHL is a Business, not a game anymore.
I had glimpses of this the last 2 new years when I was glued to the TV every evening for 2 weeks watching the IIHF World Jr. Tournament. Occasionally I would switch over to an NHL game and after a few minutes, back to the juniors. So much better because those kids were playing fo who they wanted to play for for th love of the game, not because thy were being paid todo so.

KatieStrangESPN #CBA Can confirm meeting is over for the day. No progress. Sounds like that's it for mediation process entirely. Two sides too far apart
