According the NHL the last CBA was a bad deal which they said they wanted when they finally got the NHLPA to agree to it so it's interesting to see this article say "NHL owners won the last lockout."

I think it's definitely true that the Owners saved money in salary. I wouldn't label it as the Owners winning. I think it's more accurate to say that both sides gained from it.

That I can agree on but now they've pretty much flushed that down the drain with this lockout

hi there
my business and apt are luckily in neighborhoods that are on higher ground

we had a couple of scary moments and some awning damage and lost trees, but we never lost power or had any real hardship... people just a couple miles away from us though are still in bad shape, some people still don't have power

Very little chance of Couturier being on the first line with Giroux and Hartnell. Why would you put him there? He's the team's best defensive Center. He will play Center on a checking line.
- MJL

So MJL you are saying the flyers wasted a high first round pick for a third line defensive center?? Couter is a complete player with first line potential, he will not be buried on a third line for very long. Why do you think he was the top scorer everywhere he plays. It is a bonus that he plays both end of the rink.

I think Couturier will center the third line. I'll be interested to see if Schenn plays LW on Briere's line or if he ends up centering.
- bmeltzer

I think you will see a lot more of Couter and Schenn on the pp unit this year. I can see Schenn moving to wing one day and Couter taking over the 2nd line center behind Giroux. Unreal situation with four top centers for really only two top six jobs. Somebody has to go to wing with that kind of talent. I would rather see a skill guy like Couter take Jagrs spot rather than Simmonds who I would rather have on the third line.

Where exactly did I say his career potential was as a 3rd line Center? Or that they wasted a high first round pick. It's pretty simple. Right now, at this point in time. The best spot for Couturier in my opinion is to Center the 3rd line.

How come you didn't ask Bill if the Flyers wasted a high first round pick? He seems to think the same thing I do.

You might want to include Voracek as one of the prime candidates to play on the Wing with Giroux.

Voracek is a good idea but he will have to learn to finish. Couts can finish better that Schenn and Voracek in my opinion, does not mean he is better but has a great release.

Couturier hasn't shown that he can finish better then Schenn and Voracek. Both Schenn and Voracek can score in this league. Couturier is not the right guy to play on the wing on the first line right now in my opinion.
