And it was a poor point. The players are locked out. So they go and do what professional Hockey players do. And that's play Hockey for money. The real comparison that needs to be made is play for 100K, or don't play anywhere right now and earn nothing. This is about more then just this Season. That's what everyone wants to forget.

It's amazing how everyone wants to tell the players what they think is right and wrong and how much money is ok to make and how much isn't? Thats not the way I was raised and I'm certainly not going to start now. After all, isn't that why we live in a free society?

The players are free to do what they want for how much they want. The NHL made that their choice when they locked them out.

I must admit, I was having a very hard time debating Mr. Boonerbuck.

His arguments made absolutely no sense whatsoever, but he was really good at adding animated emoticons at the end of his posts.

I mean really, how can you argue with this:

Your an idiot! 3 X 3 = 7!

More importantly, is that your tap?

Nothing to do with it. Eliminating a lot of details of why the players are unhappy with the League's offers there aren't you?

I would say he just focused on the most important one... ESPECIALLY in light of what the players are crying about, which is ALL about money. It isn't about hotel rooms, or flights, or conditions in the dressing room.

It is about money. He just pointed out what most people figured out already, except you... the players have lost (since the owner's October offer) more than they will get back. The fact that they even *will* play for peanuts by comparison just shows how absolutely stupid they are being.

What do you think they will prove by this anyway?

It is way more likely that this union gets crushed like a bug, than the players hurt the owners so badly that they think twice about messing with them again LOL!

Contracting rights? Yeah thats just plain old money, like you said

It's a NEGOTIATION, do you understand that? Do you understand what a negotiation is? Do you understand that a negotiation is a give and take, that ALL issues are interchangeable within the specs of negotiations. If the NHL had come to the table with a REASONABLE offer across all factors of this negotiation then things would have gone much smoother and quite frankly we would all have hockey right now. But yeah, the players should just bend over and take whatever the commish throws out there right? Well go tell your boss you're willing to do just that since it is obviously so "ok" for the players to do that

Aetherial, et al

Regarding MJL: The fact that he asks someone if they read what that moronic Edmonton reporter wrote says it all. The rhetorical question back to him is: "Have you?"

What the Broward County Audit report is saying is that the Panthers sucked $8.4M more than they were allowed out of the Arena Corp to fund their black hole of a hockey franchise.

The Edmonton writer didn't get that, of course, the Arena Corp's revenue will be down when the primary tenant does not rent the building for a year.

You obviously didn't read it either George. Because the article wasn't about the Broward County Audit. It was about the last lockout.

I'll provide the link again. Maybe you'll read it this time?

Hey, I posted a link to the Forbes guy and his list of team losses. He has a comment section and was posting in it. i suggest you jump in there and question him on how he got his numbers and his "guesstimates".

Doubt you will cause you will get pillaged by an expert in what he does.

LOL. At least you described it correctly. And labeling it as guesstimates is being generous.

I have read Willis' post and there is no doubt that the players have certainly won when their share of the money gained also went up.
Every year the players went up in: % gained, revenue gained or both...so how is it that they lost?

See the quotes...it is your wording not mine...but go post on his article and call him out. Let me know when you do so I can see the dismantling he gives you.

I don't think they lost. Which is I why my first post in reply to when that article was linked on this thread. Stated that I hope a new CBA can be agreed upon where both sides do well.

I'll let someone else do it for me. But you go on ahead believing that Forbes is accurate.

Really dude? You don't think contract rights boils down to money.

I was exactly correct, it is ALL about money. Yes, contract rights is plain old money. It is funny that you don't get that though, so thanks for the usual humor value.
