For those of you keeping track, Justin Schultz had four points in his last game, and he continues to lead the league in scoring. I think someone posted on Twitter that he's on pace to score 119pts this season? Ridiculous. The Oilers have found their new Paul Coffey.

I think they took one of his assists away... Left him with 1 goal and 2 assists on the night.

I like Green, but I prefer Matthew Good.
- Jack-artist

Another Matt Good fan?

I've been a fan of everything he's release, solo and in his band. I personally don't think he's ever had a weak album.

The Biebs is the biggest musical act in the world right now. The CFL actually gets someone "big" which is usually their knock. They also supply him with a stage that is more than a few planks and old christmas decorations. Yet, people still poop on it. I guess people should enjoy having Blue Rodeo and Saukrates and so people won't complain about relevancy.

Not to mention the beibs played for free, it got a TON of people who would not normally tune into a cfl game to tune into a game. Not to mention biebs is CANADIAN so give the CANADIAN talent some respect already. I think its sad people poop on the guy.
- habsrock71

Did it? Or did it just get people tuning into the half-time show?

What's the target audience for a football game?

If its 12 year old girls then Bieber is a great choice.

If its males aged 25-45 then it's gonna piss people off.

It might be best not to go there... As the Liberals- and NDP now do not have much of a leg to stand on - and well the Green party got token membership based on the last election results to be perfectly fair - but hey Elizabeth did win 1st prize at a recent Gala ...

Boo frickedy hoo. I'm sure most of them spent the half time occupying the throne anyway and are just complaining to fit in like a bunch of 12 yr old girls.

The thing is the 25-45 year old men are already watching, so really what does it matter?

That and even if Beiber was brought in to target 12 year old girls, what is wrong with targeting a different market? Isn't that the point when growing the game.

He also lived the majority of his life with undiagnosed bi-polar disorder, and used to suffer crazy periods of mania and crippling anxiety before finally being admitted to a psych ward after overdosing on ativan.

Tragically Hip.

That said, and I wish I had a link to it, but I am lazy, anyhow if you really think the NHL will "crush" the NHLPA again like in 2004 (which in essence the league did win, just didnt see the long term becoming this, clearly) you should perhaps read up on Donald Fehr and his last gig. The guy doesnt lose, ask the MLB owners what they think of him, and most did HATE him but once they realized the will gain more by working with him and the union in some sense rather then constantly against (see 1994 work stoppage) and you will see why the NHL is in essence doing exactly what MLB tried, and failed miserably at doing. Its been said Fehr will take a lesser "deal" to ensure his players are still fully informed and backing him, and he has done this to date in this lock out. Anyone who really thinks the players are "cracking" internally are most likely wrong, or at the very least embelleshing what is printed or reported.

The mediator most likely won't help as its all non binding, all the other side wants is for them to say you are more right then the other to help in the so called PR battle. Which in reality doesn't exist. We as fans don't really matter, and yell and scream all you want, we will all return. Some markets, typically in the US will lose traction, but you are kidding yourself if you think this lock out is doing anything to the cities and teams already struggling, simply making them that much more apparent when and if NHL returns. But he will not contract the league and moving teams isn't as simple as some like to think. So here we sit.

Look I am as mad as any, my season Tickets are currently gaining interest better then my bank, all which will pay for next seasons tickets and then some when they return. As will I, to my seat with my beer. But the sooner that both sides realize they are both losing the "battle" and in the end its all about dollars and cents, adjust the make whole payout, hit 50/50 at some point in the first 2/3 years and get the game back on.

But this year, my gut says its done.

I don't disagree with you. Bieber was a poor choice but why do Canadians insist on insulting the kid? He is what he is and a great deal more talented than a slew of other performers. Leave it at 'bad choice' (not you but in general) and move on.

I think it was a good choice. I think he's a little sh1thead, but he is the most popular musician in the world today. Anytime you can get someone that popular, you go for it...
