if he did not get injured he be with MacKinnon etc.. in pts imo

Problem is that it's not all about points. There have been lots of guys that were great point producers in junior that dont have the speed and/or size to keep it up in the NHL.

I actually agree about Duclair though, he had the speed and skill to be a point producer in the NHL and has good enough size. Could be a steal, especially if he somehow falls outside of the top 10 but IMO he'll be a lock as a top 15 pick at the very least since I can see him climbing up rankings every month.

Drouin at 2? I highly doubt teams pass up Barkov or Jones for him.

I have him at 1. But then again I'm seen as a Quebec league homer.

I had Charles Hudon going in the 2nd round last year.

Couldn't tell you how happy I was when Timmins picked him in the 5th

That doesn't make him as good as Mackinnon or Drouin though. He's good, but he doesn't have a top10 skillset.

Québec is a pretty stacked team, as they usually are. The points players get on that team (Frédérick Roy for example) don't really show how good/bad they are.

I'd have him at 4 right now behind the obvious 3. Hudon was definitely a steal in the 5th, I thought he would have been a decent 2nd round pick or a more likely solid 3rd round pick.

I'm definitely not a prospects expert/junkie though, I just read some articles/scouting reports and message boards to get clued in. I definitely trust the people who watch these guys almost every game over the central scouting system.

Tell you what , I have seen Frederick Roy live 3 times for the Amerks . I think he is amazing. That kid has heart and is not afraid of anyone . I don't know if his skill set will translate to the NHL yet . But I love his tenacity . He never gives up.

I'm not disputing that. But seeing him explode offensively last year didn't mean he had a future as a scorer in the NHL. Numbers don't always tell you the whole thing.

Sadly, people base their evaluation mostly on that since they don't watch junior games.

Anyone else see T.J. Brennan and Brian Flynn's big nights for the Amerks against Albany? Flynn went 3 & 1, and T.J. went 2 & 1. Foligno got an A too. He's playing really well.

My father worked on the furnace for a Sabres equipment manager, (I forget the E.M.'s name, I'll edit the comment & add it if I remember) and he told him that the day before the trade deadline, Kassian and a friend stayed in a hotel around the city (cannot remember name of the hotel, I'll post if I remember) and they trashed it. Like 1980s rock-star kind of trashing. Walls were busted, furniture broken, etc. He was supposedly drunk throughout this whole ordeal. They ditched the place, and Sabres brass caught wind of it, and that's when they decided to ship him out. I'm guessing he had a warning after the whole bar-brawl incident that if he acted up again, he was gone.
*****EDIT: It was the Linium Hotel

Hopefully the Kid grows up for Vancouver . He has great potential . Hopefully he fulfills it . The development of Foligno made him expendable for Buffalo.
