If he became Jussi Jokinen that'd be fine.

Does not sound good for a season.

Or Get your Resume updated and start applying to places that will treat you better than those greedy owners.

At Mcdonalds dont you get a free lunch while you work?

The perception will be that the Owners won and the players gave all the concessions, and got hosed. If they take the deal now or next year. But the players will still get much Richer anyways. So take the deal now

Ian White calls Bettman an idiot. .. Ian white has made 9 million dollars so far in his NHL Career. 10 years. If I work for 30 years, I can hope to make 2.5 million over my life.

It could be worse, White will make another 5-10 million before hes done.

Nah, my favourite is Ian White’s comments on expanding where the NHL shouldn’t be. Someone needs to let Ian know, that creating the 30 or 40 extra jobs for NHL Dmen may very well be what gave him a job in the first place. He could very well still be toiling away in the AHL.

cept hes what, the 2nd best D man on Detroit now?

Ian White IMO is doing what any of us would do, getting pissed off and is fed up and let it out.

maybe not the right thing to do, but id do the same.

only 50 points a year!!!

BUST

people on this site who sees 40-50P per year as a bust are downright stupid.

the 50P threshold only goes to 100 players last season.. which means at 50P you would be in the top 15% in the league in scoring

50 point busts.. (frank) that drives me nuts.. people why say crap like that have been hit in the head too many times

Right now, I would just be happy to see Kadri make it through a full year in the NHL and be productive.

If he was a JJ as in a decent 2nd line option that can do shootouts and pot 15-20 and get 40-60 points depending on the year it would be fine. The trick is, do you have an overbearing forward presence like the Flyers that would push a player like that to the third line, or do you have a defense that is strong enough to have that kind of player in your top-6. Burke seems to be leaning towards his Ducks route with defense being a focus, he doesn't have any HOF's like he used to, but he's drafting and trading for strong assets. Outside of the Gezlaf's, Perry's, Selanne's, McDonald's who was a major threat for the Ducks?

Not that I think he'll ever build a team of that level again sadly as there are very little moves he can make to do so unless they win the lottery.

players getting angry is a sign of them beginning to fold.

their cash reserves are starting to dwindle now.. wont be long til desperation starts to sink in.

not to mention white is an idiot for slamming the poor markets.. its guys like White who spout off that those small markets should fold without even stopping to consider that guys like him would be lucky to get a min wage pay in the NHL since more talent would be spread across less teams

players do not have the business savvy nor the intellect of people in ownership.

they need to shut up and be content making 3 million per year or whatever.. take w/e deal is offered and move on.

its not that cut and dry .... you could surround kadri with more physical linemates which would help to offset his size.

he is a skill guy.. always will be.. and there are places for guys like him in the new NHL.

stick him with a power forward winger and a defensively responsible centre (i still dont think kadri has what it takes to play centre in the nhl, but i thought he was better on the wing in london too) he would be the quick lil spark on that line that kept opposition D on their heels a bit.

i see him as being an effective, consistent, 40-50 point guy. especially in the NHL where defensive systems seem to be more rigid.. allowing smaller guys like that to expose holes with a little more ease

It wasn't about that, they have so much forward depth that he'd fall to that role regardless. Some teams that go deep do so on forward depth, others on D or goaltending, some on all three. The Leafs right now with the drafting recently look like a squad hoping the D comes together and the forwards can be adequate yet nothing special.

Actually the choices are either get paid millions to play, or get paid nothing to sit.

Guess is just depends on how you look at it.
