He went 1st overall in the WHL import draft too, so it's not like he doesn't have some pedigree.

What's up with Gernat? He injured?

- sanfordnson

true. i didnt mean to imply he's come out of the blue. 2 seasons ago in his rookie year in the dub everyone was all over his jock. saw him briefly in the wjc's (before he got booted) and a couple dub games..so not much, but couldnt argue with those numbers.

last year i heard lots of questions about his frame, desire etc. from dudes who didnt know if his game would translate to the pro's.
point is, my expectations were tempered.

extremely pleasant surprise

While I agree that I do not want to make whole sale change from vets to rookies I do agree with getting some of these guys in OKC up.

Hall and Ebs are moving into their 4th pro seasons. That is youthful vets.

Nuge will be on his 3rd pro season, Yak in his 2nd.

We keep Horc for his contract length and resign Jones. Gags and Hemsky stick around. That is 8 of the Top 9, in comes Thor to replace Smyth.

Hell,

Sign UFA Getlaf for 2C.

Sign LWs Clowe and Penner.

Hall.Nuge.Ebs
Clowe.Getlaf.Yak
Penner.Horc.Hemsky (Pancakes and Hemsky had some chemistry)
Thor.Belanger.Jones

Sign Doug Murray, Re-sign Smid

Smid.Petry
JSchultz.NSchultz
Murray.Marincin/Teubert/etc...

Just some ramblings...

did i come off as implying leave ebs, nuge, hall down???!!!! i certainly didnt mean that.

i just want to be very cautious with marincin and klefbom. dmen take time. no need to rush them.
prv too.
i also doubt pitlick has the game to make it next season anyway, so im not too concerned.

getzlaf and clowe!!!??? sign me up

About not wearing pants? I'd love to, but I feel like we've just met. These things take time

No, I figure I wasn't clear...I was rambling a little..

What I meant to talk about was that Hall and Ebs will be 3 year "vets" and leaders of the team. Add Gagner and Hemsky and you have 4 guys with solid NHL experience all at or under 30 years of age in the Top 6.

Want the wisdom with age player? Horc is a good start. Jones is there also.

So, I don't see a problem with our leadership or "vet" presence, infact I think the team is at a perfect place to add some of the guys from OKC to the bottom 6 while Horc and Jones are still there to help bring them along and the Top 6 are able to feel their way on their own now.

Bring in Harti and MPS to the bottom 6...just a couple and let them adjust slowly

Good point about Gagner... if he clicks with Yaks then I'm happy with him at 2C.
