Yep. Doubt you'll ever get anything out of folks like Kate Murray, but I bet Mangano would be eager to jump in and play the blame-shifting game since this all happened on his watch and he'll have to spin it. It'll really highlight how dysfunctional all the leaders in the county are when they're all just casting blame and bickering as Rome burns around them.

Maybe consider updating your story with a note in the deck that it's "Part I" as well...I didn't catch that there would be more, but now see it's down in the seventh paragraph.

Actually I did. I had "Ongoing Series" in the sub-title but Editors at CBS replaced it. Sorry.

Technically, Brooklyn is on Long Island so stop.... the Islanders are not leaving, they are simply moving down the block. In the end this move will be better for the franchise down the road. Will it suck for some fans in Suffolk...no doubt but if the Islanders are winning then no one will care where in the NYC area they are playing. Gone will be the days of....

Free Agents laughing at the thought of playing here
9,000 people attending mid season games on weekdays
2,000 people attending games in bad weather
Other team fans infiltrating the arena on a daily basis
Lame kid days to try to sell tickets
etc

Finally we don't have to worry about the future of the Islanders. The team is finally accesible to fans in NYC, NJ, and the other boroughs. Most importantly, the franchise can sell luxury boxes and club seats. The Barclays Center has already sold out 99% of its boxes....this would never happen in Nassau County. Dee...get over it. The Islanders are no longer in Uniondale.

I'm a season ticket holder in Suffolk, about 30 mins from coliseum. The move to Brooklyn may keep me from attending 30 plus games like I normally do but I can't tell you how happy I am that this mess is over and they are staying. I can literally get to a game now by walking to northport train station, get obliterated if I choose because now I don't have to get into a car. It's the best situation the isles could have found themselves in . It's better for the team and the building will still have the old school feeling with fans right on top of the ice . It will be just as loud as coliseum when the coliseum gets going.

People need to stop crying about it. The residents should be crying to Kate Murray, joe mondello and Ed mangano and themselves for letting it happen. Not to Charles Wang or the isles.

I'm not a big Wang supporter as far as how the team is run but I think it's safe to say many other people would have left with a big pay check . Best move Wang has made.

By the way for all who believe Charles still own this team I have a bridge for you to buy - the Brooklyn Bridge. So to Dee there is no blame, it is called taking a the biggest $$$, and that is business! Give it 2014/15 as the Islanders are skating in their first season at the Barclay's (yes one season earlier then expected), and by 2015/16 as Charles is riding off into the sunset as the hero that saved the Isles in 2000.... And as Isles fans let's all learn to speak Russian as the deed of ownership is approved through the NHL office to Mr. Prokhorov. ..... Yashin is hired as GM (that is comedy relief about Yashin)

Saw this article on NHL.com today and thought maybe we can get Pascal to give DP a call, since he hasn't yet gotten the memo in his fax machine.

Petrov is a pipe dream at this point and I think it's funny his name still pops up on these boards with consistency. Kabanov has a better shot of course. I guess alot would depend on how he bounces back from this injury, he's young but it seems pretty severe.

I happen to agree - don't be surprised when there is a new management in place running the front office of the Islanders as they into the Barclays and Charles is bought out. We all know he does not like to be "tenant" in a building, and they just agreed to a 25 year lease agreement. The man is nearly 70 years old, logic has to apply here - he will be hitting the bricks, open your eyes people.

There have been no negotiations with Prokhorov, nor are the Isles for sale. They will only sell when value is higher. It makes ZERO fiscal sense to sell a team with such little value when perennial non-playoff team and a rebuild that is yet to take shape. Prokhorov is a pipe-dream at this juncture.

Any word or rumors on Barclays lease terms with respect to splitting up revenue? Wouldn't surprise me to see Wang get a small cut of arena revenues, maybe making Wang almost a junior partner or something like that, while the other Barclays players get a cut of Isles' revenues. No matter the case, I wonder if any of the Barclays folks would put some more pressure on Wang to ice a competitive team, or if they would provide any resources to him to do so. I'd think they'd have an interest in making sure the Isles hit the ground running when they're ready to play there.

Mr. Gallof I believe his quote says in 15/16 season that Charles will be out. We all know that ownership, particularly a character like Prokhorov and the history of the Islanders and NHL background, will need to do a lengthy check and approval. This is step one of turning over the keys to the car .
