Here's the problem I've always had with the HHOF, which is somewhat related to Henderson: it seems like they place a huge emphasis on longevity of career over flashes of brilliance.

Does Mike Gartner really belong in the HHOF? He was an above average player for a very long period of time, but he was never a 1st or 2nd team all-star. He just wasn't that good.

Joey Mullen? Even with the US discount, he just shouldn't be there, in my humble opinion.

Lindros' career was cut short. But is there any doubt that at one time, he was the most exciting player in the league? One of the top scorers in the league, who could also destroy you physically. But his career was cut short by injuries, and so the HHOF is now ignoring him. Sorry, but that's just wrong.

Having said all that, I don't think Henderson should be in the Hall. Sorry, but 8 games doesn't make a career.

I would agree, if we were not still talking about the event...Every year, this is one of the most pivital points of hockey in the history of the game. It put Canada on the hockey map.

How can't you have a guy with over 700 goals there?

I agree 100% with everything you say. Obviously you have to be a pretty good player. But if you could somehow go for 20 years, you can really rack up the points.
