But Kevin Lowe does.
And so does Mike Krushelnyski.
And Dave Semenko.
And Taylor Hall
And Jordan Eberle
And Teemu Hartikainen
And Justin Schultz
And Oscar Klefbom

What people need to realize with consideration to both Sundin and Henderson is that its the HOCKEY hall of fame not the NHL hall of fame.
Henderson's performance during the Summit Series, not just the final goal, was legendary. It wasn't just one national team vs another, it was a representation of a battle of political ideologies played out on the ice.
As to Sundin, his international career speaks for itself. Also, with respect to his NHL achievements, obviously he didn't win a Cup. But there is something to be said for the fact that he was the first European player selected 1st overall in the draft, first Euro to 500 goals, first Euro to 1000 points, first Euro to captain an NHL team and to date is the longest tenured Euro captain to serve in the NHL and he did it playing in one of the toughest markets in the sport. Some people may think that resume isn't enough to qualify him for the HHOF and they are entitled to that opinion no matter how uninformed it is. |

First and foremost, Paul Henderson. Should have went in, when he was first eligible, after he retired. Henderson scored the most famous goal, in Canadian history and scored the winning goal, in games 6, 7, 8, to win the Summit Series for Canada. It's a national disgrace, that he's not already there. - PrinceLH
Completely disagree...one goal does not make you an automatic for the HOF.
They simply cannot let everyone in......or whats the point? |

Oh it's on.
I gotta go with Slava Duris, but off the board with Mark Kelso is also a worthy choice.

No matter how you dress it up, one series doesn't guarantee you spot in the HHOF.
Sundin yes, Paul no. |

No it's not.
He was never even close to being good enough to get in.
And he's the first one to admit it. - robin_steele264
He was good enough to make the 72 team and score those "fairly important goals"
give me a break.. |

Ya one goal, the goal that one the series.
The guy was saying because he scored a huge goal in a big tourny, he should automatically be in HHOF. |

No, he's not good enough for the Hall.
He had a very pedestrian career and scoring the biggest goal in international history doesn't change the fact that he wasn't a great player.

It is arguably the biggest goal ever scored, with probably the most historical renown/impact.
Normally, it is clear that one goal, or one great season, or one great playoffs or whatever is not enough.
Because it is the hall of fame though... I feel he deserves to be recognized.
