Instead of asking for more all the time, they now need to focus on keeping all they managed to acquire over the years.

I think they still make sense for workers with lower educations and knowledge of their rights. How many times will an employer do something he's not legally supposed to do and not meet resistance because no one knows he's not allowed to do so.

They make no sense for people with an education because usually these people can either defend themselves properly and will simply find another job elsewhere if they don't feel appreciated. (This will happen more and more as time goes on).

To be fair, employers have their part of responsability in this. Lazyness and/or bad productivity should not be tolerated and actions should be taken to make sure it doesn't happen.

Sadly, when you work for the state especially, productivity is not something that is followed and evaluated enough to give managers the power to act on the matter.

Except in Hospitals where everyone is overloaded... but thats another story.
