No Adam. This is not the same. He will not lose all of his speed of course. But the part that makes him what he is will lessen more quickly once he is 30ish.

I don't care which one you choose. He's a great player and I haven't doubted that. But speed diminishes over time and he has especially delicate legs.

Agree it is definitely a gamble but I think they have made some nice moved to solidify certain areas. I still think there will be a few more moves.

EDIT: The turf will help him get more doubles and triples so he will have to steal less.

No doubt they've gotten much better. For me, the two pitchers are the most important parts of these deals. You just picked up 400 innings of under 4.00 ERA. Granted, both were in the NL, but these are two quality pitchers.
