The CBA/lockout won't be officially over for at least another week or longer, but, we may hear about an "agreement in principle" over the weekend. These things take time once the agreement is made. The owners have to officially vote on it (with all present, I believe), the Union has to officially ratify it, which takes another drawn-out process of getting a bunch of people in the same room at the same time.

This is how lawyers make their money.

I don't believe that all parties have to be in the same room to ratify the CBA. Maybe on the Owners side, but not the players.

I believe all the reps do, but not every single player. Sorry, if that's how it sounded. They still have to get a lot of bodies into one room.

Some people do, the coversation has stuck. Every now and again someone says something about the talks that nobody knows anything about, but it gets derailed by other thing because, well, no one knows anything about the negotiations.

@reporterchris: I'm told the NHLPA made offers yesterday on both revenue sharing and players' share/make whole. They expect a response from NHL today.

What the hell is going on...C'mon get a deal done already...or are the owners gonna come back today with their offer?

I'd rather they take a few extra days, or a week, to make sure all the loopholes are closed that caused a lot of problems with the last CBA, and ensure no new new are opened, so we don't go through all this poop next time.

US Thanksgiving, Dec 1st, Dec 15th... or no season - whatever, just don't cobble a last minute CBA to get games going that without proper due diligence.

- JDJ

Teams and agents will end up finding new loopholes...........and we will be going through this next time.

Well they had a whole year last time and still got it wrong.

The structural problems with the CBA are not "loopholes". They stem from the whol cap/floor approach which don't work in a business with as much economic disparity as there is in the NHL. Teams can't keep up not matter how much you roll back salaries and even if you plug all the loopholes or improve revenue sharing.

We will be back at this at the end of this CBA

I watched the game Monday night - I haven't seen pro players go through the motions with minimal effort like that since Vince Carter was winding down his tenure with the Raptors.

Funny thing is if you look at the Eagles' remaining schedule, it's Krispy Kreme soft. They could still put together a run for the playoffs.

But I sincerely doubt they will. They've already packed it in.

fist

and yes, the eagles offensive line is horrible!!! vick should be from starting out in shotgun formation for every play just to give him a split second more to see the field.

Doesn't have to come from the GM, Owner has already said an 8-8 season or lower record would not save Andy Reid this year.
