Schneider is top 5 in the league.
And at the top end of that 5.

Where does Luongo place in the top-5?

Alfredsson is one of the most miserable players in hockey. So morose.
You'd think having hair like a clown would make you more jolly. - bloatedmosquito
It is a real shame he cut his hair. When he had the Crusty the Clown thing going it was a neverending subject of ridicule; literally hours of on-line entertainment trolling Ottawa fans.
... they still have the Trojan-man Senator mascot guy. That never gets old!

That is ridiculous. So if you disagree with a dumb unsubstatiated statement, you must be a troll? Again, I'll say it: Schneider has never been a starter, never started 40 games, never won a playoff series. And he is top five? Lundquist, Rinne, Kipper, Price, Ward, Hiller, Luongo, Rask, Miller, Quick
Thats ten and I know I'm forgetting guys. |

I'm guessing top 3, but he may fall to #4.
Keep in mind Schneidsie's already there, so there aren't that many spots left.
Best part about Luongo, though, is that he's locked up for the next little while, so teams can sleep at night knowing he isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
That totally ups his value. |

And Eddie Lack will be better than both Schneider and Luongo, no doubt.
Plus we have Jensen as the next Naslund, Kassian as the next Bertuzzi with Schroeder as the next Morrison. Plus Weber will be traded here next summer for Raymond, Ballard and a 2nd. Stacked! |

Because the fans are a bunch of morons in toronto and the newspaper industry making it worse. Prime examples was with The Monster. Oh hes poop, hes crap, he cant save poop. Even though every (frank)ing night he played the team would hang him out to dry for every goal while he would make big saves. He would play his heart out then the team just gives up or gets lazy or breaks down. He got so mad after games you can tell he wanted to win and wants to win when he played. Then you a have that (frank)ing moron ron wilson taking him out of his hot streaks and placing concussed reimer who is still out of his mind. Nice logic.
Pretty sure luongo would bail us out, would bail our defence out with big saves and keep us in the games. So many times id see toronto go to OT and see them lose due to some stupid mistake they made in their own zone because of the pressure and the fact that they cant get the puck out of their own zone. Courtesy of komisarek(dont know why the (frank) he is on for 4-4 hockey) and schenn made some mistakes as well or on stupid face-off loses when we have steckel who wins them, or just dumbass moves by our players who have the chance to clear it but want to do some fancy poop which causes the other team to score(bozak, mac). - Mapleleafs_91
I agree in principal with what you are saying here... however this particular wave of commentary - meaning Cherry's and that of rest of Toronto media is all based on commenting on each other's commentary... i.e. opinions. So in short don't put too much value on it...
All Cherry seems to be saying is that its unlikely if Luongo has a choice that he would chose a crazy hockey market like Toronto over his home in Florida... which seems pretty reasonable logic to me.
Whether Toronto really wants him is merely a factor of how little the Leafs are wiling to give up to get him.. and with that fat long contract (please read this part Canucklehead fans)... the Canucks won't be getting anything meaningful in terms of quality youth for him. Any mention of Gardiner, Kadri, Frattin, Rielly, Finn, or high draft picks is just plane stupid... there's no way Burke/Nonis are giving up any of those guys unless there is significantly more coming back from the Canucks.
It will be a bad contract and mid-to-low round pick - nothing more.
And for the record I don't think the Leaf fans are beating this drum at all.. I'm seeing a lot more of this from Canuck fans and TOronto media looking for something to right about. Maybe they should get out of their nice warm offices and go watch a few junior games... like Cherry does - rather than relying on talking to each other to dream up lame storries or theories.

Morning, everyone.
As much as I would love to re-hash the Luongo to Toronto roomers, let's try to keep things fresh.
From today's Toronto Star:
http://www.thestar.com/sp...-green-light-in-fort-erie
Sources told the Star that officials may also approach the National Hockey League to discuss hosting an outdoor game.
If you look at the picture:
You'd have to put up an awful lot of temporary seating, as the 65,000 seats are spread over quite a bit of distance (1.6 km oval, so each long side is at least a half a km).
But if you did, you could easily sell 120,000 seats for a Leafs/Sabres game.
Easy, peazy, lemon squeezie. - Atomic Wedgie
30 seconds from my house. That would be amazing..... But it'll never happen. |
