I'll be one of the first to get a Luongo jersey when he gets traded here.

I'll also be one of the first to call him a bum, and washed up, when he lets in a soft goal because our defense hung him out....

Yeah ok...lou's ntc ends in 3-4 years and his salary drops considerably. So he'd be a perfect backup then for a team like Florida that doesn't have money but needs to get to the cap floor

That being said I think he's a blue jacket or panther when this is all said and done.

Lu is a great goaltender. You can say that he lets in soft goals, chokes under the pressure, stands behind a good team, at the end of the day you have to give the man his due though.

That being said, I don't like the contract. On top of the contract, I think about what we would have to give up to acquire him.

Would be nice if Toronto made a trade that came out of left field that actually made me excited.

Here is the concern. Luongo is not the same guy from a few years back. He has lost much of his leg and foot speed. Because of this, he is not able to cover the bottem of his net. He has difficulty moving across the crease and adjust to the oncoming two man rush and picking up on his angles. He lets in soft goals. Why would the Leafs give up a blue chip talent for a goalie who is losing his skills?
- spatso

You keep spewing the same crap because you heard one guys negative opinion about Lu and you preach it like it's gospel.

Can we debate about how bad Burke is or something, I'm bored. Dean Lombardi took over the Kings in the spring of 2006, they finished with 68 points in 06/07 and drafted fourth overall, in four years they had a 101 pt season and were in the playoffs.

Be nice!

It kinda helped that Dave Taylor drafted Kopitar, Brown and Quick before Lombardi got there. But I didn't want to mention that.

Not saying he would want to come here, or that we have any thing to trade for him. I would really like Dustin Brown in a leafs Jersey though.

oh not too bad.. just taking a few minutes to let my head clear a bit.. work is surprisingly hectic considering the time of year

and yes.. i hope today they can at least find some common ground to start working from... i think the cancellation of the winter classic made the union realize the owners are serious. too bad it took as much as that.

Because the fans are a bunch of morons in toronto and the newspaper industry making it worse. Prime examples was with The Monster. Oh hes poop, hes crap, he cant save poop. Even though every (frank)ing night he played the team would hang him out to dry for every goal while he would make big saves. He would play his heart out then the team just gives up or gets lazy or breaks down. He got so mad after games you can tell he wanted to win and wants to win when he played. Then you a have that (frank)ing moron ron wilson taking him out of his hot streaks and placing concussed reimer who is still out of his mind. Nice logic.

Pretty sure luongo would bail us out, would bail our defence out with big saves and keep us in the games. So many times id see toronto go to OT and see them lose due to some stupid mistake they made in their own zone because of the pressure and the fact that they cant get the puck out of their own zone. Courtesy of komisarek(dont know why the (frank) he is on for 4-4 hockey) and schenn made some mistakes as well or on stupid face-off loses when we have steckel who wins them, or just dumbass moves by our players who have the chance to clear it but want to do some fancy poop which causes the other team to score(bozak, mac).

Did you watch Leafs games? The 2nd half of the season, Gus seemed to let in AT LEAST one bad goal a game...wrist shot from the point, slapshot from neutral zone, bad angle wrister that he misplayed...he did make some big saves, but he also let in some very bad goals at bad times (game tied late in 3rd).
