I disagree. I'll leave the presposterous "spewing this crap" crap alone, because well, you don't need me to make you look bad for writing that. However, the Leafs have not put Komiserik in the minors because he hasnt been bad enough to go there and they havnt needed his cap space. Its a seriously spurious example. A better one would be to ask yourself where Jeff Finger has been playing. The Leafs can and will put dudes in the minors. Yes, the retirement thing could be a bit of a problem, but is worth the risk. And seriously, you think Bozak and Frattin is too much to pay for a hall of fame goalie in his prime? Wowzers dude. - Jimmy_Tea
First of all, Komisarek hasn't bee placed in the minors because he has a NMC which means he can't be sent to the minors unless he says it's okay. You would think a guy with a degree in literature could go to Capgeek.com and be capable of reading that all by himself. Guess not.
Second of all, Luongo is no longer in his prime. Last year, even though he was playing behind a 1st placed team, his numbers were far below where they should have been. Luongo is going downwards as he gets older. His best years are already behind him and the future will only get worse with the butterfly style taking it's toll on his body as time passes. |

Well its not really working....................... This so called "stack" team is doing jack poop out there. Kadri is sleeping, blacker and holzer havent stepped up their game, only work horses i see out there is gardiner and mckegg and hamilton. Ashton is like a ghost out there, eakins doesnt play brad ross so we cant see his production, the goalies are absolute SH!T and i mean garbage. Owuya and scrivens are having it tough this year. Rynnas is only goalie with that game that impressed me.
This defense system is falling apart, our defense for the AHL is weak at the moment. - Mapleleafs_91
By all accounts Kadri is actually playing great. They say he's been snake bitten and i've missed the last two games but I can confirm this up until last week at least. |

I wouldn't worry about it.
After the Marlies made it to the Calder Cup final last year, there were plenty of fans of other teams that assured me that the success of your AHL affiliate didn't matter. - Atomic Wedgie
Good chance a lot of those fans change their tune if the Marlies continue sucking. Funny how that works. |

Gardiner is already set in stone with the leafs. Its more filling in the final gap for the leafs if this season is resumed or if next season. To make some space for those guys your talking about.
We have:
Gunner Phaneuf
Gardiner Franson(if resigned)
Liles ___?____ (blacker/holzer/komi) - Mapleleafs_91
I can see Burke getting a Dman before the season starts. I also don't know if Franson is ever playing here again, but he's no top four. Isnt there a russian guy (his name escapes me) but isnt he supposed to be replacing Schenn? I also think maybe Komi is a well above average bottom pairing defencemen. Just forget what he earns for a while and actually watch him, he's not terrible. |

I may take some heat for this. I, being a Canucks fan, a Luongo supporter, do not want to see him leave - but I can recognize when one's time is due.
Now Luongo to Toronto makes sense. Burke is in no position to mess around, debating trades right now as I could see another year of missing the playoffs, finishing near the basement landing him out of work. So for him to throw a bit of Toronto's future away makes sense for him on a personal level. Personally as a fan, I would not want to give up too much for a world class goaltender entering the decline of his career with the contract he has. Fortunately for whichever team lands Luongo, I can see him retiring to Florida within the next 4-5 years as he is a family man so the contract will not extend for too long (depending on CBA changes).
He is a world class goaltender that had a bit of a struggle against Chicago for a few years, they had his number. Every player has a team who owns them, a rink in which they don't perform as well as they do other arenas. Unfortunately for Lou, it came at a bad time. The Boston series, the games the Canucks won were 1-0 type games. Vancouver just couldn't solve Tim Thomas! The team became discouraged and left their goaltender out to dry - causing him to give up. He'd win a cup for a team, but not for Vancouver. He can help get Toronto to the playoffs and I can stop losing money on betting that they do. |

Eight games, zero goals, three assists and minus two.

Question: Why be such a Richard all the time? Just tryin to talk hockey there s no need for the attitude. I mean, you'd never speak that way to my face if we were having a beer and talking hockey, so why not be a man and just be respectful? The NMC is actually a good point. I conceed that it is. But you coulda just said that. However, even if he didnt have that, he never plaid bad enough to warrent the Finger treatment. |

I disagree here too. If you don't perform you don't play, whether youre in the press box or the minors, the Leafs are not and never will make personel decisions based on what a potential FA might think. Do you really think Burke would give a rat's ass? Because if you do, I don't think you know Burke! Do you think Richards looked at the Rangers and said, hey I don't wanna go there cause of what they did to Wade Redden, or do you think he might have thought "I am Mike F'n Richards"? Cause, I don't think guys actually ever think theyll play bad enough to consider it. In reality, Burke has the best repuation for how he treats players and he still hasnt convinced a big name to come here because he refused to sign 12 year deals, so obviously money talks louder than good treatment and the threat of the minors is a factor so minor as to not warrent consideration. - Jimmy_Tea

Franson would be in the top 4 since he plays on the right with a right handed shot. Gardiner plays the left as well as liles. And i think your talking about the german holzer who is not off to a good start with the marlies in my opinion, dont see the big hype around him. |

Look we are all sick of people dumping on Kadri. The kid is top shelf.
He just needs to be placed in a system that knows how to develop skill. You know, build a kid up not tear him down.
Maybe Burkie will drive him to the airport for us. |

Finger season before he got sent down: 39 games, 2 goals, 10 points, -11.
Komisarek last season: 45 games, 1 goal, 5 points, -13.
Of course not. |
