I'm not at all blinded by Oiler love...you have it the other way around. All of you spouting the nonsense about taking Seguin over Hall, Tavares over RNH yada yadayada are all just blinded by your OILER JEALOUSY!

- Iggysbff

So, what you’re telling me, is that if there is a single Oiler that I wouldn’t take there, it’s all jealousy? LOL. Who’s blinded here?

Man you're right, I wish the Bruins didn't win the Stanley Cup in '11 and got the 1st overall pick.

I learned something interesting yesterday. The Oil are two years away from being an elite team competing for and probably winning the stanley cup.

I found that fascinating.

I learned yesterday that apparently scratching your nuts after applying peppermint oil to sore muscles is a baaad idea and your sac will be very cold for several hours.

My learning experience was more constructive than yours. Advantage: sanfordnson.

this is just it. we dont know that. u chose the 2 best players in the game to make your argument a little more convienent. but what if a few of them turn out to be top 5 players? or 3 of them in the top ten?
would it be wise to deal them in that case??
of course not. lets just wait and see instead of jumping the gun.
and using the "u cant afford them, so deal them now" argument makes me want to bang my head against a wall.
its just silly.

oh, and 5-6 years? no playoffs certainly doesnt mean historically bad. in fact 2 of those years were barely misses.
year 3 of the total rebuild hasnt even begun.

if you're gonna attempt some passive aggressive disses, at least have your facts straight

- hugefemale dog77

i didn't say you can't afford them, deal them now. i just said that with these guys all moving into the penthouse on the pay scale within a few years of each other and the future CBA unknown in detail, you might not be able to have them all as untouchables.

Is it wrong to say I want to see a Yaks for Subban swap between the two teams? Just for the sheer entertainment value of listening to Clouts go out of his mind. I think if it were to happen Clouts would lose his marbles.

Well i'd say 100% without fail, they will win a Cup before Vancouver. But no one can take your President's Trophies away.

Funny. That kind of poop happens all the time.
My wife once used one of those sea sick patches that goes behind your ear. Basically it's a mild aenestetic. Somehow it got in her eye and she walked around for a day and a half looking like Dany Heatley.

It's no longer a question of "if" the Oilers will win a Cup, but how many will they win. I say between 20 and 25 from now until 2050. But that's being very conservative.

Am I the only one that has a problem with the article in which he says that Yaks is a 50g-60g NHL player?

Seriously, where did those stats come from? The last I looked, Yaks hasn't played in the NHL. He's been playing in the KHL, which is a league that has no defense, and is all offense. Good for him, but when he plays on the smaller ice, and against real pros, he won't be tearing it up at the same pace.

Also, what are the chances he has soo much fun in the KHL that he decides to stay there once the NHL is back?

All in all, don't count your chickens before they hatch.

Me? I'm just getting on the bandwagon. Cloutier agrees with me. Oilers are going to ice a team full of future hall of famers once we get hockey again. They are a shoe-in to win a few Cups with all their young talent. You disagree?

Even if Yak is a disappointment and can only score 30 or 40 goals a year, there's still Hall (80-90 goals/season), Eberle (70-80 goals/season), Nuge (50 goals & 842 assists/season). And that's only one line.

Yakupov is tearing up the KHL as an 18 year old. He was the sure fire top pick and looks to be the real deal. Clouts hasn't gone nearly as overboard as I figured he would have by now.

Now for Grigo and Garth.... Shouldn't you be pissing on those blogs first?

no we dont.

many of us are cautiously optimistic.

but either way, based on what we've seen, ud be VERY stoked to have drafted yakupov too.
deal with it

also, the oilers need a dominant power forward alot more than another playmaking center..

- hugefemale dog77

Yes you do...read any thread about Yak, or any of the ones talking about trades involving him...this thread alone mentions 60goal scorer, franchise player, plus the fact that a Price AND Subban for Yak was thrown out there shows how much you overvalue him.
I would absolutely LOVE Yak, and think he will be great, but don't put him on the pedestal yet...
