Which works out to a similar rate of production per minute of ice time. Oh, and the only reason for thast is Hall got gifted tonnes of PP time.
So, given two players, they both produce the same (because on be gets a boost from so much PHPtime), one way better two way, no injury history, which do you take?
The answer is obvious. And you won't like that answer. - prock
LolololTROLLlololol.....is back...
Of course I know you ignore the numbers posted, so break down the points per minute for both players...I know Hall has a much better point per game, playing against tougher match ups. But enlighten me with this stat of point per minute, and where you got it from (or how you calculated it barring you finding it on a web page).
Yeah, that :30 seconds per game, for 61 games drove up the stat column didn't it. Sefuin's extra 20 games @ 2:30 per game didn't help him @ all.
You so sad. |

You're probably right, but nobody knows... Yakupov was more impressive than Stamkos was in the OHL, and I'd take Stamkos over Ovechkin. - laughs2907
That's arguable. Stamkos was a goal a game almost, on a crap team, in the ohl. I don't doubt that had he had some teammates, he would have had more assists. Its hard to find a guy that can score goals like stamkos, and that was true in the ohl too. Now he's got a few top players to play with, and one of the best in the league setting him up, so no doubt that doesn't hurt. Overall, who knows, we will see what happens. But I doubt yak can match the raw goal scoring ability of stamkos. Ever. I never expected stamkos to develop like he did though, that is true.
At least you're being more realistic, rather than pulling names like Crosby, malkin, and ovechkin. Let's be honest, players like that rarely come along. We were fortunate to see three in short succession. But it might be YEARS before we see another. Like I say, I think the next likely candidate is Connor mcdavid.

2006-07 Sarnia had 78 points (0.574 win %... Team GF 270) ~ Stamkos .66GPG (Rookie)
2007-08 Sarnia had 76 points (0.559 win %... Team GF 251) ~ Stamkos .95GPG
2010-11 Sarnia had 57 points (0.419 win %... Team GF 243) ~ Yakupov .75GPG (Rookie)
2011-12 Sarnia had 75 points (0.551 win %... Team GF 243) ~ Yakupov .74GPG (Was at a tremendous pace before his injury... Has followed that up with a .77GPG in the KHL as a rookie... That .77GPG is the highest in the league. Malkin = .44GPG ~ Ovechkin = .43GPG)
*For Yakupov to put up .75GPG in his rookie season in Sarnia is pretty amazing... Especially considering he had to adapt to the NA style of hockey*
I'm not expecting Stamkos level goal scoring, but I certainly wouldn't be surprised if it happens. He definitely has the potential. |

Meh. Yeah, he dropped off, but so did the entire team. So did their goals against. They went from middle of the league, to one of the fewest goals against in the league, from 09/10 to 10/11. I think they made a conscious decision, after getting ousted by more defensively capable teams several years in a row, in the playoffs, that they wanted to concentrate on defense. Now, that hasn’t worked for them either…. His ice time per game has also dropped every year over the past 4 years. Maybe he was on steroids, maybe he wasn’t. But I don’t think his drop in goals is damning evidence on that. I think they’re just trying to change their game (and his game), because it wasn’t working. |

You’re really going to have to stop comparing him to Ovechkin and Malkin in the KHL. It’s ridiculous. You make yourself look like a fool. And what I see from what you post, is that Stamkos scored most than 25% more in his final year.
It may happen, I’m not going to say it’s impossible. I will say it’s highly unlikely though. It wasn’t even likely Stamkos himself hit these heights.

I don’t really care if Seguin is surrounded by a better team. Maybe it helps having better players to play with. It also means he isn’t just given ALL the prime ice time and opportunity. Seguin is the better all-around player. It’s pretty close now, but in a year or two, I think it’s going to be an easy decision. |

Says the guy who thinks Seguin is better than Tavares
And of course I can compare him to Malkin and Ovechkin right now... I'm not saying he's better, but the numbers do not lie... Right now, his GPG is much higher than both Malkin and Ovechkin... If facts make me a fool, than so be it.
P.S. Ovechkin minus the steroids is still a good player, but he doesn't belong in the same category as Crosby, and Malkin. I'd take Tavares and Stamkos over Ovechkin... I'd actually like to see Hall and Yakupov on the roids, to see what they can do. |

imo it goes both ways
I think being on Patrice Bergeron's wing arguably the best defensive allround forward(probably in a tie with Kesler...Datsyuk is a god amongst men) and his plus minus leader status of last year furthers that notion....so its safe to say then that Seguin is learning from the best while lookin amazing next to him, furthermore Seguin IS the go to offensive guyon that team he doesnt have to be overly responsible because the entire team is sick on Defensive team, so the advantage of how good he looks on that D is there for him too, meanwhile Tavares literally has the team on his back in every aspect....
imo Tavares is up there just under Crosby but next to Malkin....just not right now...he will be in 2 years
i just dont see Seguin putting up those numbers even if he ends up being a better defensive player |

Hall and Yakupov ARE on the roids. WIthout the roids, they're probably 40 or 50 point guys. - prock
What? Where are you getting that from?
At least the Ovechkin thing had a little evidence behind it.
