I heard that all of the Oilers draft picks were busts in poor drafting years

i love the "weak draft" argument. it's become a true favourite of mine.

this seems wildly pessimistic.

im hoping for 80 goals a year and a wing in the hall of fame dedicated solely to him.
with construction to begin after his first game in the nhl

When Hall was drafted I heard to bad it wasnt the next year because Coutourier is a beast, Then when we draftede the Nuge i heard too bad it wasnt the next year because Yaks is a franchise forward. Now I hear Yaks will probably stay in Russia and McKinnon is the next Crosby

u sneaky fuker prock. betting on the fact i wouldnt check. well played!!

i knew ppg was close but it was pretty much identical!!
hall woulda scored a few more goals and he'd have ended with a few more assists.

- hugefemale dog77

Except Seguin did it with less ice time, and WAY less even strength and PP time. Yeah, he HD a lot of PK time, because despite scoring the same in way less ice time, he's miles better two way.

And I wasn't being sneaky. He was one goal off.

Well, somewhat rue though. Since ovechkin and Crosby, there have been any "generational" type talents. Its looking like not only mackinnon might be one (though, I think he's a step under), but then there is mcdavid after that, who I'm pretty certain is. You seen that kid play?

So you think Taylor hall is on Crosby/ovechkin level?

No way. More like tavares level.

no.. but that has nothing to do with the original point.

anyway.....hall, nuge and yakupov. sucks that we had to suffer so badly to acquire them, but in the end ecstatic that we did.

I fail to see how Seguin is a level above Tavares.

Sure he is.

And btw, Ovechkin isn't on Ovechkin's level anymore.

Well, I'm not saying that. I'm saying that its somewhat true that there are generational players on both ends of the oilers three draft years.... malkin, Crosby, ovechkin. There is a gap, then there is potentially mackinnon, but I think hell be a step below too. Connor mcdavid, however, that kid is pretty dominant, as a fifteen year old.... I think that's likely the next generational type talent to come along.

Look, these players at 16....

Crosby - 135 points.
Tavares - 134 points (8 more games)
Taylor hall - 84
Mackinnon - 80
Rnh - 65
Yak - Russia

At 17...
Crosby - 168
Tavares - 118
Rnh - 106
Taylor hall - 90
Mackinnon - looks like maybe around 100? Hard to tell.
Yak - 101
Seguin was 106 also by the way, but way better two way.

At 18..... NHL stats
Tavares, Taylor hall, rnh, similar rookie stats, with rnh the best of the three. But Sidney Crosby is obviously on another level. As he was at every level. I don't think that's even debate able. Mackinnon seems to be progressing along with rest of them. Maybe a little better, or at least, among the better ones of that group. And maybe as the season progresses, he turns it up, as he gets a little older. At this point, similar though.

Connor mcdavid is over a ppg as a fifteen year old...... he's doing what many of those guys did at 16, so far.

I mean who knows, but if you had to lump them all in one draft, I think you see Crosby, malkin, ovechkin, then a big gap, seguin/rnh, yak, hall. Mackinnon, maybe fitting in around seguin rnh, yak. Mcdavid, the most likely to join the top group.

He probably put up similar points per minute of play, with a fair bit of that time being PK..... way better two way. I would take Seguin.
