he says the NHLs plan is to get rid of Fehr, which to me makes no sense. everyone knows that Fehr is out after this is settled anyway. it's not like they'll have to deal with him for the next 20 years. i am starting to believe that in fact it's the opposite--the players hired Fehr and are willing to lose the season (and into next season) and possibly irreparably damage the league in order to get Bettman out.

it seems that that's why they've built the union the way it is now--with the Fehrs basically in control of everything. there's no Trevor Linden this time. there's no one to lead a revolt, so the revolt, when it comes, and it will come, can be put down quite easily.
