I think he has been rebuilding the whole time. Look at the high end draft picks - Kessel, Phaneuf, Colbourne, Kadri, JVR, Rielly - yeah, some are from other teams, but who cares? He signed some FAs and never agreed to bottom out, but he has been rebuilding on the downlow for four years now.

I don't believe the leafs are a middle of the road team. I think there a strong goalie away from being a contender. Laugh if you want, but Kessel, JVR, Lupul, Kadri, Colbourne, Grabovski, Kulemin is a strong forward group. I like their D. Their 3/4 line players are pretty solid. A team whose going to suprise. Mark my words.
