I'm asking a question, don't get me wrong it is horrible that people lost their homes, but if someone was trying to stay in their house when it was flooded and was trying to use electricity during it, they are not smart people.

Besides, Its fairly easy to make a 70-game schedule.

5 intradivisional games(2road, 3 home for half and vice versa for half): 5x4= 20
2 intraconferencial games(1 road and 1 home against each) 2x10=20
1 game against each opposing conference teams(home/road 50/50) 1x30=30

Not so difficult 70-game schedual and pretty easy for cpu to make after inputting parameters. Its not even unbalanced as u have 50/50 road-home game ratio. I really dont see your problem JDJ.

so, to summarize. hurricanes are nothing, you've experienced endless amounts of bad weather (in bc, calgary, edmonton, and barrie), there's been 3 floods in your town this year alone and no one has died. only stupid people die in hurricanes, because they were playing in the ocean, or making toast in their flooded kitchen. it's not like it was a tsunami or anything...

im hearing through the rumor mill that many of the russian born players that are currently playing in the khl, like it better and intend on staying and playing over there. big names like ovechkin and gonchar. maybe malkin. damnit man!?

I read that there is a rule in the KHL, that players who are signed to NHL contracts, can only make 65% of their NHL salary in the KHL. Those players aren't going to take a 45% pay cut, if that is indeed true.

it's not just moving the divisions around, or having a computer pound out a schedule. it could involve restructuring the entire format (4 divisions, 2 conferences), which i do believe requires board of governor approval. some owners may not want their teams shifted into a different conference, division.. less trips to town for some stars, less big money games.. whatever the circumstances may be.

there's just alot more at play than moving a team and crunching out a schedule. moving winnipeg is nothing comparable to shrinking an 82 game season to a 70 game season.
