You aren't getting my point correctly.
Phoenix wouldn't pull out $60 million.
Every team would share in the benefits of the revenue sharing pot equally.
All 30 teams.
It would be the greatest collective system since the Russian mir. - Atomic Wedgie
This makes zero sense. If you lose money how do you contribute to revenue sharing? You're a beneficary. |

Make it 900 Million with ever team giving up 30 milion and all 30 teams receiving the same amount in relief. |

Maybe in Canada it's just a game. In America it is a chance to loosen the stranglehold of Football. Finally making ground? Slated to have the biggest audience ever? Nah, give it away. Just very discouraging how detached from reality these negotiators are. |

You're funny ek...these clowns can't even agree on the logistics of when & where they're meeting, let alone come up with proposals that make sense. - Pen15

Yes, but you are forgetting that you would also be receiving money from the pot.
Everybody wins.
And more importantly, everybody contributes, so all teams have an incentive to turn a profit.
I don't really see how the NHLPA could object to this. |

That sounds a little high to me.
I don't think the mid-market teams would agree to it.
I may be wrong, though. |

Crashes right to the *drop the puck* setting when really it should be going left to the *Eklund drops the ball* setting. Scooped by ESPN? For shame Ek. For shame. |

Yeah mid and small market teams win. If I get everyone to kick in more money and I get more than 1/30th of the revenue share back. Im sure Toronto, Philly, NY, Montreal etc will be very happy. |

It will happen next year, and hockey would never lossen the stranglehold on football.

But that's the beauty of this idea: it's currently Atomic Wedgie's idea.
Whoever reads it first here on Hockeybuzz gets to propose it first.
That could be Fehr, it could be Bettman.
Whoever proposes it gets to be the guy who came up with the idea that broke the logjam, and saved the season.
That's a pretty big incentive, don't you think? |

I love how the first blog of the optimeter, the settings moved 4 or 5 times during the day and made it all the way to Lace up your skates and then it exploded.
Ek must had been calibrating it. |

No, you still aren't getting it.
Toronto, Philly, NY, Montreal, etc. would be getting back the same amount as the other teams.
That's why they would support it. |

It has steadily been doing so every year. People watch the Winter Classic over the Rose Bowl, that is NOT happening 5-10 years ago. And I agree, the progress will resume, there's just no excuse for this. None. |
