Canucks needs are top 6 forward, third line center or tough top 6 D .
Canucks are not getting one of Oilers top 4 forwards and Gagner is not top 6 forward yet . So it will not be for a top 6 forward.
Oilers IMO don't have a better third line center that what we already have ,so it won't be Horcoff
That leaves a Dman. For Canucks to hand over a 35 game winner /average over the last 7 years to a division rival for scraps will not happen. It has to be a wow Dman . That comes down to Schultz or Peckham . You just signed the young stud Schultz so very unlikely it's him.
The only thing reasonable enough to make the Canucks make such a dumb move would be Peckham.
I am not sure if Tambo says we have a hole on the D so we need Tanev also.
I think it is Peckham Khabby for Luongo Tanev - VANTEL
doubt Luu is going to edm
anyway horcs contract would be a must going the other way

No thanks to Luongo in EDM. I prefer to give Dubnyk a chance, deal with Horcoff contract, and keep a young prospect like MPS. |

If your D corps relied on more than a college prospect enjoying extreme success at the AHL level I would agree with you, but since it doesn't I would take Lou. Oil fans deserve the playoffs and a reason to enjoy hockey after the last few years of disappointment. |

I have this theory that the NHLPA has had a plan all along to wait until they received their escrow cheques before attempting to negotiate a deal. If they rush and get a deal signed by, let's say, the end of Friday, NHL schedule makers will cram in as many games as possible so the players and owners can get as much money as possible. 14 games per month average over November thru April is 84 games...Subtract two off of the beginning of November, and there you go, instant full season. - Maxbone
I don't think that math works, The season couldn't start until the 9th at the earliest. It's to much hockey to cram in. I would love to see it but I just think we are already looking at 75 games even they sign a deal tonight. |

I'd probably do that anyway.
I like Luongo a lot, but that dirty dirty contract bothers me. |

I like the pull his stubble gives my pubes when I pull my sack off his chin...it is like a light velcro feel...and then the slap sound when I bounce them back in is just delightful |

Horcoffs contract damage had more effect it made the oilers from contenders to the laughing stock of the nhl, after 2004 you guys could have signed gabrik with that contract or a superstar not that bum.

Horcoffs contract cripples a team doesn't matter how many years left you'll have to trade lots of players to take on his contract. |

They make ~ the same money, but one is about 8 years shorter...
So yeah it is not Horc's contract that is the problem...the team has set its contracts up so that other than the kids everyone will be done...and only those that are staying will get contracts of any meaning ful length...Lu's contract goes opposite to this...by the time the team is in full flight he is in serious decline but still under contract for a long time... |

That's a ridiculous underpayment for Luongo. Putting Peckham and Schultz in the same breath made me laugh a little bit. Peckham's chances of being a long-term top-4 NHL D-man are fairly slim, in my opinion. He's not a good enough skater to make it long-term and he doesn't really fit in with the Canucks' whole "jump up on the rush and move the puck quickly" mentality. - Michael_Stuart
Incase anyone has not been following this saga . Luongo will not fetch us a top 6 forward a top prospect or a top 4 D.If he would have been worth it a deal would have been done months ago.
Peckham is mean and can fight, a Brian Allen type ,but not as big. If any team is offering a Schultz or Gardiner please come forward. |

Horcoff would not be coming back . Why would Vancouver reward Edmonto and punish ourselves.
I don't think Lu is going there either. |
