The Jets, much like the Leafs, need a lot more depth at the center position to be able to compete. Mark Scheifele looks to be a good young prospect, but so did Kadri at one point.

On the wings the Jets are in a much better situation than the Leafs, goaltending goes to the Jets, also on defense the Jets have a slight edge.

If the year is lost, a lot of things could change player personel wise for the Leafs going into next season!

I TOLD YOU all the kessel deal is the worst deal in franchise history... kessel will walk after his contract is up and who can blame him.. also seguin will turn into a stud not to mention Hamilton

Ha ha ha...I'm glad you can see into the future to know that Seguin and Hamilton will turn into stud's in the NHL, and Kessel will walk away from the Leafs...
Leafs got one of the top goal scorers in the league out of the trade, so I wouldn't say they faired that bad...Kessel was 6th in the league in scoring last year on a team that finished 26th...and he JUST turned 25!!

Jets are better on the wing? The have Wheeler, Ladd and Kane and after those 3 the talent drops way off...Leafs have Lupul, Kessel, JVR...and then MacArthur and Kuli...
On defence, Jets have Bogo, Buff, and Entrom...Leafs have Gardiner, Liles, Phaneuf...I would say pretty comparable...
Only position where I would say Jets have a clear advantage is consistancy in net...

Yes completely forget about Wheeler Kane and Little. If Bogo is healthy then Jets will have a shot this year. I think they are closer.

I don't know about net but I think the Jets D, at least in your sample, is better. I think it's really hard to look at Phaneuf objectively. Kid has all the tools but never puts them on his tool belt when he comes to work.

that being said, aside from Kane I think the Toronto forward is far more individually talented and that is certainly their position of strength but they only strengthened it and not the problem area of defense.

I would say Jets D is marginally better...Buf plays like a rover/forward, and Bogo is a stud...but they are pretty close.
Jets top6 D: Buff, Bogo, Enstrom, Hainsey, Stuart and Clitsome?
Leafs top6 D: Phaneuf, Gunner, Liles, Gardiner, Komi and maybe Franson
