As a non-eagle fan ill say this: they have some good pieces on both sides of the ball. Going into the season they had an unqualified def. coordinator, not a bad guy just in over his head. They needed to groom him better than they did. Then you have a qb who refuses to protect the football which is the most important aspect of that position . So what I saw was a recipe for disaster.

Impossible. A coach is only any good if his team has won championships and/or if he has an animated demeanor. Likewise, a goalie had an awful game any time he allows more than one goal and a skater contributes nothing if he didn't score. A team has had a failure of a season if it doesn't win the championship.

A lot of jokers on Twitter saying clearly Castillo wasn't the problem. But it was clear last year he was in over his head and you can't fix the defense in a week. He should have been fired over the summer and a new qualified guy brought in to put his own system in place (goodbye Washburn and your wacky system). Now maybe they get rid of Reid. But does Reid making Bowles his def Coord mean he's tainted and not an option to take over as head coach?

To answer your question on Bowles I'm inlined to say no he shouldn't be tainted. I'd like to see how he handles the transition to have a better idea.
