G with 2 assists so far and Briere with 1 assist. 3-3 midway through the 3rd.

Ya know the flyers really messed up dropping big money on Bryzgalov and not vokoun too. I mean look at that great run he had for those capitals.

Personally I would have signed bryz, vokun, kept bob and then made a move for Nabokov at the deadline to sure up the depth chart.

So Weber got paid upfront huge $$$ thanks to the Flyers? And he gets to keep all his bonus?

He should be on broad street right now handing out candy, turkeys (next month), and gift cards (12/25)

Simmonds had a penalty shot goal, an assist (on his first shift of the game) and a minor penalty in Liberec's 6-2 loss to Ceske Budejovice today. He played left wing on a line with ex-Flyer Petr Nedved and Chris Stewart.

Former Phantoms forward Ladislav Kohn had a goal and an assist for CEB in the game.

I wonder if the lockout could be settled by Weber giving back his signing bonus in place of a salary rollback

It amazes me how these owners are willing to pay out these bonuses while the players sit at home making money elsewhere, as opposed to generating revenue... Makes as much sense as a hockey team in Phoenix but not Quebec.

It's really annoying that they allow these mega deals and then when they are ready to decide they don't like that anymore they ask for the money back. Something wrong with this picture??

Reality is that, despite his 'terrible' season, Vokoun still put up better numbers than Bryz. And the team would have saved approx $4 million in cap space which could have been used to upgrade the defense (in front of him).

Again reality is backups sometimes have some nicer numbers than starting goalies in the NHL. As for your money saving bit, that was the idea behind signing Vanbiesbrouck instead of Joseph years ago. I think we can agree the flyers didn't quite make the best decision.

Edit: unless my screen is broke vokoun was only better in one category than bryzgalov last year.

I'm not sure how the two situations relate. Other than that they made mistakes both times.

(edit: yes, the most important one)

They didn't sign Bryzgalov to play for one year.

Sources say #NHL pulled latest offer from the table partly because not every owner liked the deal. Several clubs weren't on board

Scared to find out what they didn't like. Any indication why they didn't like it?
