I understand the rangers already got compensation but there has to be some sort of limit to what the isles are allowed to do.
E.g. I don;t think the isles can build an arena right across the street from MSG.
There has to be some sort of line in the sand doesn't their?
It just surprises me that they we're allowed to do this without question.
I think you hit the nail on the head with the real answer: The rangers don't seem to care. - B-Wforever
The real question is, why do you care so much? |

I saw this yesterday UIF and decided not to post it. This does not bother me right now. If the Isles continue to play DP if he is lousy and continues to keep Cappy if the team is lousy I will have plenty to say. - ses111
Then you will have plenty to say. I'll say it again Snow is not going to suddenly turn into a good GM because the team is moving to Brooklyn in 3 years. Expect more head scratching management decisions. |

Your right, walking 5ft across the platform and then ascending steps is a true pain in the ass that only a true athletic speciman could perform. - latorrem1
There is a direct line from the LIRR to Barclays? No subway needed? I'm honestly unaware? |

What exactly about his comments don't you like?
Wow, an owner praising a player he has under contract.
Would you have preferred he threw DiPietro under the bus? - Atomic Wedgie[/quote]
Yes. I think we'd all be able to agree with this(except you x). |

I just vomited in my mouth. The last thing I want is "hip hop artist" wearing my teams jersey. I hope to god they don't change anything about the color scheme and leave everything status quo. - Cptmjl
Sorry to tell ya but its been done already... and it started a long time ago with Flavor Flav then members of the Wu-Tang Clan |

Yeah I know. Seemed to go out of style for the gangs though so I haven't seen it for a while. Hopefully it doesn't come back. |

Even Charles will have trouble protecting Garth if the Isles are still lousy with a new building and all the new resources. In the past the building could always be used as an excuse. That's over. The press will also not just let the Isles pass being in Brooklyn. |

You can take the LIRR coming from the Island or the Subway if you're coming from the city. It's a no brainer |

Both teams play within the largest metropolitan area, this side of Asia.
With arenas that only hold 15-20,000 seats, it really isn't an issue with a population of 8 Million+.
Geographically speaking, the Devils Arena is closer to MSG than the Nassau Coliseum.
Lastly, the Dolans, who own the Rangers/Knicks & WNBA Liberty (and Cablevision) don't even list the three teams revenues on their annual report individually. They are listed on a single line called "Other Income". Not to mention, a large portion of Ranger fans LIVE on Long Island(nassau/suffolk counties).

As a season tixx holder of the islanders, its great news that finally the Isles will be in a new arena, hopefully become relevant & respected franchise once again.
No more excuses from Snow or Wang moving forward, but at least they should now focus on making this team much better since one of their biggest issue has been resolved. Even tho, Brooklyn will be to far for some fans, or even die hards, like myself to be a part of Brooklyn as a season tixx holder, I have already put my deposit down for Brooklyn, but it will be harder to attend most games, and probably get involved in the 10-15 game packages instead. Gonna miss the convenience factor for sure bc of how easily accessible the coliseum was, but i am more excited for this team to become a winning franchise again.
Was at the Barclay's center last week at the Nets-Celtics preseason game, and if nobody has not gotten the chance to go yet, its amazing with all the named concession stands, and better restaurants to eat at, no comparison, and well deserved.....
also wanted to point out, that Wang & Nets brass are trying really hard to buy-out the remaining lease agreement with Nassau, and try to get into Brooklyn sooner...
thats all I have for now......... |
