What exactly about his comments don't you like?
Wow, an owner praising a player he has under contract.
Would you have preferred he threw DiPietro under the bus? |

Here comes the Nassau County spin...
Some See NY Islanders' Exit as Fresh Start for Nassau

I like the quote: "If the powers-that-be work together it can become a vital, mixed use downtown-like focal point of offices, apartments, nightspots and recreation options."
Umm...there was this plan once...what was it called again?
The ABLI rep commenting as if he's just some impartial observer is humorous as well. |

"If the powers-that-be work together it can become a vital, mixed use downtown-like focal point of offices, apartments, nightspots and recreation options," Watt said. "If they do not, then it continues to be a White Elephant epitomizing the political stagnation that plagues the region."
You know what would be a great anchor for that mixed use area? |

Not to point out the obvious, but if you threw Ricky DP under the bus, he might get injured... |

When the Ottawa franchise actually nuts up and wins something of relevance let us know. Until then keep holding onto to the notion that Alfie will lead you to the promise land. My guess is now that the Islanders actually have a revenue stream and a solid footing that we will finally join the rest of the NHL. - latorrem1
OH come on. Are you a Habs fan in disguise? Holding on to Cups won 20+ years ago! Your team sucks. That's a fact. I've never said Alfie would "lead us to the promise land". Don't get upset because your team is the Rangers turd that washed up on the shores of Long Island. |

Without giving away my "Eklund" status, I can say this is the best news yet. We are going to inherit a brand new fanbase with the Islanders!
No more miserable people who would rather be in a half empty antiquated building complaining because the doors to the Coliseum opened at 6:05 instead on 6:00pm as Goldie Lox was able to get to their spot on the glass for warms ups before them.
Change is good people..... get with the times. |

what're you....12?!?! How do you go from saying go the extra 25 miles to moving to Canada or Seattle? in the span of a few minutes? Haters are gonna hate, I get that, but a Sens fan talking smack?!?! Did you miss the school bus this morning? - 1since40
You make no sense. I said they should have went to Canada or Seattle, because they're not worth anything in New York. They're not the Rangers. |

Thanks for the first rounder for Campoli........ - kindlyrick
That pick turned out to be Kyle Calmieri, we really missed the boat on that superstar. Since you're so up on your history you would know that the pic originated from Tampa and was dealt to you, which was then dealt from New York to Columbus and then to San Jose before landing in Anaheims hands. We still selected 9th in that draft for the record. |

It's time to move anyway.... your taxes will be going up with the loss of the Isles and all the business that goes with them.
Thanks your local politicians, and all the locals for voting against the new arena and project.
This is the best thing to happen to all the Isles fans in a long time.
Hopefully they get to move sooner... maybe the new developer will want the land before the end of the lease!!! - jimmc7722

That's Kyle Palmieri...read your google searches more closely...at a pt/game in the AHL in his first two seasons of pro-hockey he could easily play on the Sens.
and don't address my previous post. |

Sorry, spell-champ. I'll address what I please. That's what a forum is for. Since we're correcting each other, Palmieri had 109 points in 113 games so, technically, he wasn't at a point-a-game. |

If people from LI can commute to Rangers games into Manhattan then no Isles fan should have an issue commuting to Brooklyn. It is basically the same amount of time. The Rangers have a rather large contingent of fans around here, so, I don't want to hear any female doging. And...if you work in or around Manhattan, you can take the 2, 3 or the A train directly there. Less than 10 minutes from lower Manhattan.
This is a (frank)ing slam dunk.
Would you have rather flown to Kansas City or Quebec? - potvin05
Not really. Getting off the LIRR and walking up a couple flights of stairs to the garden is a bit easier. |

I didn't want to bring this up because it's irrelevant...just like the Islanders Cups being held over peoples heads in 2012.
We're actually tied in Cups.
New York Islanders: 4
1980, 1981, 1982, 1983
Ottawa Senators: 4
1920, 1921, 1923, 1927
You say its 85 years ago, I say yours are 29 years ago. The result is same, 4 Cups and none recently. |

Bottom line is any Islander fan who complains about this move is complaining for selfish reasons. This is the best thing that could have happened for this team. Even if they got a new arena in nassau it wouldn't have given this team the exposure it needs like Brooklyn does. Moving to B gives them the exposure they need and they will now bring in that corporate money as well. So god forbid you have to take a train to go to a game. Going to an Islander game will be an event for the first time in a long time. The best is how you hear people saying its almost impossible to get there by train. Its the same facking route to MSG expect you get off at Jamaica and walk 5ft to the next rail that drops you off at the steps of the arena. For every Long Islander who says they won't be going now that they moved to B there will be two new people taking your spot. The way salaries are today teams need that big time exposure and corporate money to survive. They weren't getting neither on the Island with a new building or not. Like somebody said earlier this isn't the 70's or 80's anymore. Adapt or Die!!! - Vukota
i couldnt have said it any better |
