I have a hard time with any of these 50/50 split things, or revenues or other nonsense. Not trying to offend Bo, but its all "economic" crap to me. The kind of crap that gets rich people richer and the average joe gets nothing.

At the end of the day the players will always have it damn good. No matter what the split. They will always make great money and they need to realise that. The players have to realise they have it good, better than 99% of the average people. The guy that will fix their gold toilet, the delivery boy for their pizzas and the nurse that will one day wipe their ass.

The owners need to realise they signed contracts that need to be upheld. Honor.

Say what you will but this is why I love Olympic hockey or the World Juniors. Its about playing for national pride and honor, above anything else.

Are athlete's over paid to begin with? Different argument for a different day. I think the players are justifiably owed 50% of overall league revenues; they are the reason the leagues exist in the first place. People pay to be entertained by the talents they posess not the ability of the owners to run a business. Just my opinion.

The only thing taken out of the pie before the split, is player benefits. Expenses that the League incurs, are not taken out of it.

I posted a link to what is taken out of it a few weeks ago. It was not gross revenues, it was net revenues. A lot of business expenses were taken out of it, and some revenues that you or I would think of as hockey related, the CBA does not consider hockey related.

I'd be interested in seeing that link. I have a hard time understanding how expenses, which is money paid out, would be taken out of the revenue pie, before the split occurs. Obviously, revenue is money taken in. One of the big topics that has been discussed in this, is the Owners complaing that expenses are growing more and more every year.

I'll have to take your word for it. I don't recall seeing a linked article that stated that the lockout is over net revenue, and that expenses are taken out before the split.
