The OHL has released its Super Series roster. Scott Laughton made the roster. Nick Cousins did not, despite making the team last year and being 3rd in the league in points this season. Pretty obvious that the OHL wanted no part of any potential controversy/ bad PR by including Cousins while the criminal charges are still pending. There's no hockey reason for leaving him off the roster this time.

I agree, I haven't like the Leagues approach for the most part. But if it takes the NHLPA making a new offer to get talks started again, then that's what they should do. The problem is that it will likely be rejected by the League.

It doesn't matter how many offers the players make, the league has made it known they'd only talk should the players accept the owners offer and all they'd really be willing to adjust is the "make whole" provision. That's not negotiating.

Nope but when 1 side makes offers and the other more or less puts out a take or leave type offer it's hard to make headway in getting a fair or as close to a fair deal for both sides that also helps financially stabilize all 30 teams in the league.

Ray Emery on a one-year deal was an experiment. Bryzgalov on a nine-year contract is a looooooooong term commitment.

As for the playing time, it's as much about CSKA already having one of best goalies in Europe (Rastislav Stana) and having not need Bryzgalov in the first place as it is about Bryzgalov's spotty play in his four starts; only two of which came in back-to-back games.

Once they scrap the WC - it's a wrap on the season. Good on ya NHL!

Silver lining. As a long-time Brooklynite and Flyers fan I get to add 3 more games to my local pool (NYI/Barclay's) to go along with the 3 games a year @ MSG and The Rock.
