Remember when Oiler fan was laughing at that Penner for Teubert+ deal?

Yeah, the Kings gave up a lot to get Pancakes, but he won the game vs the Yotes that put us into the SC Finals, sealed the 1st game vs the Devils, and the Kings won the Stanley Cup.

Oh yes, he absolutely SUCKED during the regular season, but now? Kings won that deal.

Oh, and how about Fraser for Smyth? That kind of worked out, too

I'm actually a big fan of the Barons. Been to a few games when in OKC. Gonna be there Nov 2nd to catch the Aeros

But as I mentioned in another blig, the Oilers have 14 1st round picks on their roster. It's about time they made the playoffs this year or Tambellini needs to go.

Now he's a superstar....
This crap just keeps getting better and better.

- Fakepartofme

Playing well over 4 games in the AHL makes Schultz a superstar. Playing poop over 4 games in the AHL means absolutely nothing for Nuge/Eberle.

I know the other two have shown what they can do at the NHL level... but please 4 minor league games does not make a superstar.

Klefbom is the best out of the four of these, although Rielly and Schultz are insanely skilled puck-movers. Gardiner is the player who doesn't belong with the other three. Not on the same level at all.
- Maxbone

Wow....you truly have no hockey knowledge.
I guess it is true what they been saying.

Marincin seems like a true 2 way guy, which is fantastic. Big, decent skater who concentrates on his own end, with some decent offensive skills.

Exactly what the oilers need.

Id still like to make a move for an established guy to stop gap for a year or 2.

Im sure martin will hit some hiccups down there, so No need to rush him.

Oh, wait, that's Ben Eager picked on a bouncer in Toronto.

Seriously, nobody want to talk about Ben Eager?

Or:

trades can be mutually beneficial. Especially when you're talking about trading youth and prospects for an established player. It worked out short term for you guys - Penner (and to some extent Fraser) played a role in your winning the cup. It obviously could still work out really well for us.

Easy, less pressure and a great group of young guys coming up, can't blame the kid for wanting to win given the choice (same contract terms).

I'd be happy to discuss Ben Eager... as soon as he goes to the AHL and puts up 4 goals in a 4 games stretch. I don't have time to waste discussing non-superstars.

I think after watching Schultz in his first 4 AHL games, barring any freak career ending injuries, it’s pretty much a guarantee that this guy will be in contention for many Norris trophies in his career. Perennial contender, if I may. I think the comparisons to Coffey are quite apt. In fact, if you’ve paying any attention at all, you’ll notice that Schultz surpassed Coffey’s career AHL stats in his very first game.

Just like Hall and Paajarvi.

Schultz has shown some serious skill so far, very impressive. But he's yet to play an NHL game, lets not get carried away with Norris trophy talk.

Jake Gardiner seems to have hit his stride in the AHL so far this year too.

Oscar Klefbom was a part of that deal... He may easily be the best player in that trade. Too early to tell who won

Still? They weren't even last place last year. And of course guys like Hall, Eberle, RNH will not improve... Adding Yakupov will also hurt, I'm sure.
