I find this so funny and ironic via CapGeek:

The top five #NHL lockout spenders via signing bonuses? 1. BUF $20.75M, 2 MIN $20.1M, 3. NAS $13.3375M, 4. TBL $10.59M, 5. CHI $10.2575M.

Minny is the one that gets me considering their owner is part of the NHL's negotiating team. The bonus money attributed to Nashvilles should actually read Philly since it was their riduclous offer sheet terms that Nashville had to match.

Agreed, and some of the other teams signed their players before this Season.

Don't know who she is, but she's very pretty.

Kevin Allen is today's USA today, outlines the 10 things that need to happen to end the lockout. It's a good read, and right on the mark.

I'd love to see someone start a Kickerstart for a new league and give the finger to NHL. This pompous attitude is really getting to me

So the NHLPA asked to meet with the NHL tomorrow and were turned down? Well at least now we can stop caring, its gonna be a deep freeze starting.

I guess we arent having hockey this year. At this point i dont even know what to say... Its not worth getting upset about because its obvious that neither side wants to come out on the wrong end of the PR battle.

Im sick and tired of being held hostage, so ill look for something else to occupy my time.

It's always darkest before the dawn, but we're at about 4am. I think we'll know if we're going to have any sort of season in the next 2 or 3 weeks. That said, Gary Bettman is killing the NHL, holding it's fans hostage as he makes the final money grab for the owners who control him. It will be written someday that he is the most hated excutive in professional sports of all time. Bill Daly is no better, but he's just a minon. Bettman should be indicted for fraud, as he predetermind owners would need not pay full value of the contracts they were signing. Hopefully, he'll windup in the same cell with Jerry Sandusky.

How (frank)ing hard is it to make a deal here?! (frank)ing sit down and discuss it. Especially with a purposed deadline of Thursday. News flash Bill Daly WHO THE (frank) CARES UNDER WHAT BASIS THEY WANT TO MEET. You go to the meeting and then discuss your case as to staying clsoe to your old offer.. "What would we be meeting about?" a deal you (frank)ing twit. I'm tired of the (frank)ing games the "its your turn; no it your turn" (frank)ing acting like children. I've finally had it. That last quote by Daly has sent me over the edge.

Let 'em lockout for a year and be out millions and millions of dollars. Cause guess what?! That money isn't flushed down a toliet, its back in our pockets. So (frank) them. Hope both sides see how (frank)ing stupid they are years from now... End hockeybuzz rant.

NHL Network showed the number retirment ceremony of Brian Leetch last night. Reminded me why he is one of my favorite Rangers players. Such a humble guy.

It also reminded me that the lockout of 94-95 could well have cost us a second cup. That team never really got it going after the lockout but nearly returned intact from the previous season. You could easily argue it was even more talented with Verbeek coming over during season and Nedved there in place of Glenn Anderson and Tikkanen. I guess we'll never know what might have been.

That's where I'm going with this stupid lockout too. One of the hallmarks of a Torts coached team is conditioning but when they get this deal done he won't have a full training camp to get in shape. I hope these guys are skating hard if they aren't playing overseas. Otherwise it could take some time for this team to get going this year and if it's an abrreviated season it could put us behind the 8-ball.

I think thats great. I didn't want to see the Isles move to Canada and I've heard great things about that arena so should be cool to see some hockey played there. No reason for NYI to re-brand either (although I am sure they will at least with stupid jerseys ala the Nets). I am fond of the old school Isles jersey so I hope they don't change that.

Good news is we can discuss somethign actually New York hockey relavent..

Great article, very informative. When's the last day they can agree to a CBA and still have a season?
